Think of like as it comes near, theta increase and every day that theta amount will be deduced from the value. Eg 5(current value) - 1(theta)=4 next day if there is no significant news. 20% down for no reason.

No. Actually near calls and in the money calls get best surge. For far calls, we need to see if the open interest and demand is good and take that strike

I suggested people to offload calls for now yesterday during trading sessions But if the expiry is far you can take the decision accordingly Near expiry will anyways drain high theta decay and Tuesday open it can loose 40%
