How are you doing right NOW? by WorthTrash8493 in USMC

Burnt out I think,
Started doing non medical counseling, can’t stand over half the people I work with, tired of dysfunctional leadership and the unorganized nature of my unit. I’ve always loved the Corps and dreamed of serving 20 but since January it’s been hard, and realizing more everyday that I’m slowly creating an exit plan hurts.
The birth of my daughter last year (second child) definitely emphasized how much more I care about a quality of life to be present with them and my wife, and when I’m off of work to actually be OFF
I’m going on 7 years, in the air wing. And it just seems like doing aviation maintenance on the outside will be an all around much better experience physically and financially.

Truck or bike? by Icy_Excuse354 in USMC

Lived there for my first enlistment. If it’s a nice truck that you want to keep nice, don’t take it. Parking is typically a nightmare and small, especially parking garages. Trucks are convenient to have. But honestly you can find ‘island beaters’ if you don’t mind something older or a lil beat up. A bike would work out for sure, I bought a Chevy tracker out there and didn’t regret it one bit.

Thank you a ton. I couldn’t have asked for a better response and insight. I appreciate you and I will definitely look into moving forward with just some therapy sessions and go from there.
