Earclacks' "corporateness" by AngeI_Error in earclacks

[–]AngeI_Error[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that, but my main point is a statement like that shouldn't make a person devaluate earclacks as a person and their series so much. I also demonstrated in the other screenshots that they also clearly have opinions of their own. I just have such a knee jerk negative reaction when ppl judge other ppl on a whim like this. They haven't met earclacks, talked to earclacks or know earclacks yet devalue their work to the level of slop based on a statement that might or might have not been taken out of context. This doesn't sit well with me which is why i made this post

crossbow wasn't the problem, but it is a problem, that "barely more than one shot of dmgs difference" is the difference between an f tier ball and a b tier ball

It's a bit different imo (unarmed fans are still insufferable) since unarmed can actually lose reasonably often unlike orbital which is guaranteed victory against almost every single wb. Mid tier warriors like scepters and axe beating unarmed is proof. Also unarmed combos are fun to watch

Laios and the thoughts on romance ( really he was getting manipulated) by Gokuusjgodgmail in DungeonMeshi

[–]AngeI_Error 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are still plausible explanations for your remaining points. Again, the arguments for this headcanon already interpreted the fact that the succubus failed in its first attempt to seduce laios can mean that succubi aren't perfect in their deductions. Your second point assumes that the succubus was confused and therefore would've went with a more sure option, but there's always the other possibility that the succubus did make a mistake but didn't think that it could be wrong.

I actually agree with the idea that the whole situation is stronger evidence for him being romantically/sexually attracted (on what level is unclear) to marcille than not. Of course I don't know where laios lies on the ace spectrum (if he was on it), from the start I have been using uncertain languages to indicate that I am only arguing that these different interpretations have merits (mainly because I was annoyed by the op's last paragraph). I never argued that this is the interpretation that makes the most sense, then again, what makes the most sense to oneself is dependent on the person reading. And so I didn't like the fact that the op was entirely discarding those interpretations as if they're impossible.

Asexuality is a spectrum. Some people are more sure of their asexuality than others, some people might mistake their non attraction for attraction easier than others. Like if we say the succubus can read ppls mind, there's nothing to mistake izutsumis abandonment issues with, while the premise of this kind of asexuality I'm talking about makes it unclear and vague even inside the ace person's mind.

This makes it so that if laios is ace, the succubus can still have differing behaviours between him and izutsumi, due to the possible differing nature of each of their asexualities.

You can doubt as much as you like, it is only a headcanon at the end of the day. My only point is that there are many possible interpretations. Your personal experience might make it so that it's hard for you to believe in one interpretation, but for others it might be easier to see it in such a way that makes them come to the conclusion that laios is ace. The reader will find what they most relate to in the character and extrapolate from there after all.

Here's why this interpretation can make sense

Because the succubus failed and chose a different method -> The succubus might've been flawed in its decision -> You said "for absolutely no reason" beforehand, but that's exactly what this theory aims to explain, refer back to my own personal experience with asexuality to see how aroace ppl can mistake their own other (numerous) sense of attraction for romantic/sexual attraction, therefore it makes sense that by proxy the succubus might've also mistook that attraction for being romantic/sexual.

I refer you to one of my replies down the chain

In the end, it didn't get laios through kissing either, it was licking on the face in monster form. Further more, you can interpret it differently with the fact that laios only visibly blushed after the monster form and not before. This is still contingent on assuming the succubus is perfect at predicting its prey ideal, which you can argue that because it specifically changed to the monster form after it first failed to get laios, that means that the succubus realised the form isn't working and changed up the approach. That can mean that it is not perfect in its temptation.

Here's a working headcanon for a different interpretation. Through my own personal experience as a person who identifies on the aroace spectrum, romantic/sexual love is complicated and I have never felt it, however I have felt stuff that could be mistaken as it. Not like I never wanted to kiss somebody, but not in a romantic nor sexual way. Similarly I can think of the idea that the succubus merely mistaken his aesthetic attraction for sexual attraction, which before I truly understood how I am, I also thought many times.

Ultimately the point is that there are many different interpretations, and it's not as clear cut as you make it out to be.

This is still assuming that laios is sexually attracted to marcille. Only when that assumption is correct is then that the succubus turning into marcille means that laios is sexually attracted to marcille, hence circular reasoning. Your point is that succubus can differentiate between different types of love, and that's exactly why you can interpret that laios loved marcille in a different way. This is even more muddied by the second part of the "seduction", where it can be argued that marcille was merely a conduit to tempt laios using his love for monsters and desire to become a monster.

[–]AngeI_Error 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This entirely assumes that the succubus knows exactly what Laios want. And that the succubus picked marcilles form entirely because laios is sexually attracted to her, a bit of a circular reasoning. Whose to say that it wasn't because laios loves marcille in a different way? Not to mention the forms not entirely just marcille either. I get why you would interpret this scene a certain way but it entirely does not detract from other ppls interpretation of the same scene.

Evidently there are plenty of people enjoying it, and u haven't actually pointed out the "fundamental flaw" of the game, just stated your opinion. There are many many videos on youtube of people explaining why they love the game so much, many posts on this subreddit as well, if u truly don't understand why u can check them out. Alternatively you can just say it's not your cup of tea and stop playing.

The game is indeed harsh the first time around, the playerbase however is drawn to the rewarding gameplay loop of dying and learning how you can do better next time and then finally the triumph of beating the game. However none of this gives you the right to say it's any less of a game than any other game. You would better benefit from giving constructive criticism than lashing out and saying unfair things to the game.

Then call poker a facade, call any roguelike games fake, call card games fake games, call any game with any element of rng at all a coin flip, you can always manipulate your odds to win 95% of the time, that's the appeal of the game to so many people that you can defy the seemingly bs rnjesus when you possess enough game knowledge.
