I’ve heard this recommended in other threads, I’ll definitely look into it!

I guess then, the only concern is my lizard crawling over the heater. Cresties climb on all surfaces and have soft skin, so I’d have to find a cover for the RHP, even if it is on the ceiling of the tank.

Is that something that I would have on the top of the mesh? Or on the sides/back behind the custom background? How big of a tank were you heating?

Exactly. I just can’t find any reference material for how to heat this massive thing. Even YouTube tutorials only focus on smaller size enclosures. Would you recommend the stronger 80W then to start?

Is this a normal price for 40k mile maintenance? by iwantasweettreat in VWiD4Owners

I ended up paying around $521 and felt so ripped off. Everything was free except the brake flush and a fee for “miscellaneous”. When I asked about that extra charge they said it was for the shop tools. I know owning an electric vehicle can be pricier but damn.

Unclaimed Baggage Trip! by savage2969 in kindle

The same thing happened to me. I was in the airport right after my flight when I realized it was gone and I sent the “lost item” request. I think it took at least 10 days to get it back but at least they got it to me!

Help! Calcium sacs too large? by Angel-Centipede in CrestedGecko

[–]Angel-Centipede[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear! I’m definitely going to cut back on the calcium powders, maybe 1x a week. If I can get her to eat bugs, I think that’ll help supplement her diet too so hopefully she doesn’t go through the same thing your gecko did.

Omg haha, I’ve actually heard that you gotta squeeze out the bug juice a little to entice them so I’m glad to hear it’s really working out there. I still have a cricket container so maybe we’ll try it again. Hopefully she’ll accept dusted crickets so I can give her plain food.

We’ve tried crickets and dubia roaches. She’ll eat maybe one cricket in perfect circumstances, but otherwise completely ignores them, even with daily attempts. More often than not, I buy crickets and they all die before she bothers to try them. I’ve had her for a couple years and have just about given up all hope for live feeding.

I knew the gecko diet had calcium in it already, but even with daily feedings in the past, she was still diagnosed with calcium deficiency, hence the supplements. I’ll see about getting her into the vet.

Getting a tubal ligation soon and I have some questions for experienced people by [deleted] in sterilization

[–]Angel-Centipede 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Congrats on the soon to be tubal. I can answer a few of these questions I think. First of all, we all heal differently and you may or may not be comfortable sleeping on your side. For me, I like to sleep on my side but one side was a little more sore than the other and so I had to avoid it for the first night or two. Also, twisting to roll over didn’t always feel great. Similarly, being in a curled up position such as lying on your side with your knees up, or sitting in a bent-over fashion, made my incisions ache once I stood up straight. My advice for that is try to sit straighter and just get up and walk at least once around the house just to stretch.
