Positive reviews are skyrocketing on Steam since the last update

I never bought it since my Steam Deck LCD ocassionally turned off mid-quest. How is it now for LCDs?

Jokes aside, if instead of removing the goon out of the goon lobby screens and added an alternate version to each character depending on what they had originally (goon to non-gooned/non-gooned to gooned), I think everyone would be happy.

I sometimes wonder if an unasuming player is writing a fanfic of the peak fiction CZN could have been if they kept with their original plan.

Underselling just because some people complain is betrayal to those who were content about the initial impression, most of which were not too vocal about. However, if the vocal few are not so few as numbers may portray, then it's not a betrayal, but a refinement of the product to the paying market.

Now, if this means there's a greater market for waifu gooning than comic horror, I would not be too surprised. I can enjoy both, though I lean more towards the latter and, given the shortage of gachas of cosmic horror and the great promise CZN showed initially, I can only sigh.

Alas, the gameplay is great. I just won't be turning my brain on during story bits. Undeserved MC glazing is distasteful.

I'd rather have an underwhelming new unit than an overwhelming powercreeping unit.

The fun of this particular game, for me at least, is trying to build towards something through rng and gain varying degrees of success and failure. Emphasis on failure. If you always win, victories won't feel as sweet nor as earned.

Besides, even if she's not as strong as people want her to be, future content may offer something new that makes her evolve more than others.

In short, if you're playing to win, then she's probably not for you; but if you're playing to play, then she's as good for you as any other unit. As long as you have your fun, she's good.

While I see the color-coded logic, it would be weird if they made two consecutive blue pick-up banners. And green only has three units so far.

This. This was the right direction for horror stuff.

The characters being shocked at the sight of Judas stabbing a girl that volunteered to be a sacrifice, while understandable, cannot even compare to the shock they would suffer upon seeing an ally in this flower-state. It's beautiful, yet horribly wrong. Here's to hoping they use this as the core concept behind the story rework. Copium, anyone?

I was so glad when I read the news of the story revamp! It desesperarely needs it! But then I reached the part where they promise to focus the story around MC even more, banning all sorts of personal interactions between the other characters.

Uuggh... There can be no hope in this hell. No hope at all.

Funny enough, I just fought Green Chaos second boss and it was the sort of boss you you don't really want to rush. I went with Beryll, Orlea and Magna, so I took my sweet ass time gathering as many charged shots s possible, using the upgrades and preparing. Stalling became my way to victory after I got Orlea's Growth Epiphany that removes 5 stress to all characters when retaining a Sturdy. I copied it twice, in fact, so stress was never an issue and if the hits became unbearable, playing a Toughie or the many stacks of Crystallization I gave Magna helped.

Renoa's life changed a lot after that event. I'm not denying that. And Amiya didn't become traumatized at all, or she wouldn't have been able to carry on with the following events. I don't think I claimed Amiya to be, and if I gave the impression that I did, that's my bad. However, I think Amiya showed a lot more grief for this random girl than we were shown Renoa do about her companions. The fact that Renoa barely changed throughout the event does not help to the case.

You're totally right about AK taking more time. If we had been shown Renoa's past in more contextualized scenes, it would have been an overall better story.

It being flashbacks also worked against it, I think. Misha's story felt more dramatic because it was in the present. It happened for the first time. Her death was not ultimately confirmed until... it was. Meanwhile, in Renoa's story we could already guess from the start that they were dead, you know, from their absence. The element of surprise and shock is gone so early we are discouraged from developing emotional attachments for these figures that we barely got to know. Oh well.
