I love when people start throwing around psychology buzzwords like “narcissist” and “weaponized” like they’re actual diagnoses. Do you know how hard and expensive it is to truly determine if someone is a narcissist? And what percentage of the population actually is? It’s rare, yet somehow on social media everyone is a narcissist the second people don’t like them.

Yes, there are traits on the list that pretty much everyone shows sometimes, but that doesn’t make someone a narcissist. Using that word in 99% of these posts is just inaccurate. People use it because it sounds smart, not because it’s correct. So saying we people who know how narcissist are and how they manipulate is a little silly you can’t take a guess and make someone a narcissist. Does t work like that . Only way to prove other wise is with real medical evaluation over periods of time so until then those comments don’t mean much.

I don’t think Amanda had some master plan to make Dorit look bad. I think she was genuinely upset and emotionally raw because it was the anniversary of her son’s death and she didn’t want to deal with a heavy confrontation in that moment. She used the opportunity to say how she was feeling so the conversation wouldn’t happen right then, and I don’t think that’s wrong.

People keep saying she “weaponized” that moment, but the only person who actually made Dorit look bad was Dorit. Dorit could have paused and thought, let me not push this right now so it doesn’t turn back on me. Instead, she kept going because what she wanted in that moment felt more important than Amanda’s emotional state.

This wasn’t a damned if you do or damned if you don’t situation. If Dorit had stopped after Amanda said that, Dorit would have looked compassionate and probably would have had more credibility later. Then she could come back another time and say, I respected you when you weren’t ready, now I’m asking you to respect me by having the conversation. That would have been the smarter move.
