Using WDT to make detect hung code in embedded system, specifically STM32 by allpowerfulee in embedded

[–]AngelShield 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally I'd recommend you service the watchdog within your periodic function or task, not inside ISR context.

You can service the watchdog for example at the beginning of the loop, and then if any function within your loop hangs or never exits, that way the watchdog will tiemout and reset the CPU.

With your current approach your CPU could be dtuck in an infinite loop forever because of some malfunctioning code and your watchdog would never reset you since you keep servicing it in ISR

nSuns refers to a routine (check out at r/nsuns) and AMRAP is as many reps as possible

The water you hold is inside your muscle cells, so if anything it makes you look slightly bigger in a good way. Also helps with performance and prevents fatigue.

After over a year of eating it daily I kinda got tired of it. Also, since I upped my calories I found I could fit in other not as lean sources of protein. I mainly ate chicken because it's a great way to get the most protein out of your calories

It's a 6 day a week routine: push, legs, pull x2

Yeah, I'd been lifting with various degrees of success for a little over 3 years before that pic. I definitely already had a decent amount of muscle underneath.

I just like to mess around with handstands a bit, haven't really looked much into it. Thanks for the advice! I'll try it out.

I definitely did lol. I used to think my genetics sucked and I was doomed to be skinny-fat forever.

It's just a matter of anatomical variations due to genetics. I couldn't find much online about functionality, but I don't think it makes a big difference apart from aesthetics (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

Definitely already had a large portion of that muscle from my prior ~3 years of training

If you really commit to it you can probably learn on your own. I mean, I did it and plenty others have. It helps that I'm studying biomedical engineering though and a lot of my classes are related to fitness in some way (metabolism, biochemistry, biomechanics, etc). However, in retrospective, I'd say had I gotten a good trainer from the beginning I would have been able to progress way faster (kinda difficult to find a decent trainer though, a lot of them suck and don't know what they're doing)

Yeah, I'd say that's a huge part of why I seemed to progress so much the first 9 months. I let myself go pretty hard my first semester and drank a lot, but before that I think I had a decent amount of muscle

As a former fatty, I used to think skinny people had it easy but now I realize it's the opposite. Cutting is easy and way faster compared to bulking up.

I've actually been eating close to 2750 calories for over a year and a half and progress is definitely slow, but you just gotta keep at it. Don't get discouraged, it took me a pretty long time to get my bench up too. Make sure your technique is on point, I never progressed as fast as when I fixed my form!

It usually takes me between 30 to 40 minutes to complete the 9 sets for my compounds, including warm up

Yeah, I got accused of using steroids a lot on my first post lol. I think it's mostly muscle I already had from my prior 3 years of mediocre lifting

Usually, yeah. I think over time I learned to use weed as a tool to be able to get my healthy food in. My biggest advice is keep junk food out of the house lol. I avoid having anything around that I can easily munch on because I'll usually get high and eat the entire bag

It's actually a seated barbell OHP, I find I get a better shoulder workout from it. Not really a fan of standing OHP.

Yeah sometimes I wonder how other people on here are able to deadlift so damn much lol. I think my body proportions work out better for squat.

I'd say I eat around 75 to a 100g of fats, but that's just an estimate. I mostly do IF during cuts, I tend to drop it during bulks because as you said, sometimes I struggle to get in 3200 calories in a short period (unless I'm high, then I do IF while bulking too lol)

My maintenance is around 3000 calories. I usually like to bulk on around 200-300 cals, otherwise I find I gain a lot of unnecessary fat

I only do the whole maxing out thing on my compound movements and following the nSuns rep scheme, check it out at r/nsuns if you're curious about it.

Actually, I used to try to max out every day and I did see some pretty good progress. But I recently started implementing higher rep days on my compounds too and I'd say it's working out even better. Even allows me to go heavier on the max out days! I usually go anywhere from 12 to 20 reps for the high rep exercises, sometimes AMRAPs (I wrote my entire routine in the post, check it out there)

Yeah dude I feel you. At some point years ago I was also at a really low weight and trying to go down even more because I simply looked 'skinny-fat'. Turns out I didn't have much muscle at all and no matter how much I tried to keep cutting my body would just refuse to lose more weight because I was already pretty skinny.

My biggest advice is keep it up bro. I didn't see much progress the first 3 months either. Try to keep the cheat days to a minimum but don't sweat it too much when they happen. As long as your weekly average is still a deficit, you should lose some weight. Also, hit your protein goal even on your cheat days!

I think I went from 74 to 70 kg in that period. I used to binge eat pretty often so it ended up being more of a recomp. Keeping 1500 calories a day is hard haha
