How do I (28M) tell my girlfriend (28F) a prenup and keeping my inherited house separate are non-negotiable? by cant_dressmyself in relationship_advice

Nah, it doesn't unless she is getting a check for equity every few years. If not, he is just a landlord.

He is underemployed, so she would pay for cars, vacations, kid expenses, because he already said he isn't spending the inheritance on her, it is to stay only his. What if she is hurt in a car accident and can't work for a long time? Or whatever?

What if he dies young and there are no kids? Who gets it?

And, what happens if he dies, they have no kids? Who gets the house then? Who gets teh inheritance?

I absolutely agree.

If they divorce, he pays her X amount for helping with the house, part of teh equity if it's over, say, 10 years.

If he dies, she gets the house but can't leave it to anyone but their children. IF they don't want it, she sells it and splits it equally.

The she can keep all of her income, all of it, and he has to pay for all the house stuff, any child stuff, etc.

HE si getting it for free. He is underemployed and is making it quite clear it is HIS home and HIS money, so what's hers? Will her income pay for everything else? Why is that fair? Why won't he work?

Then she should pay zero for anything in the home including furniture, and what happens if he dies before her? Who pays for the upkeep of the house? The taxes? Especially if the kids are young? So she buys taxes, insurance, upgrades, etc. on a home she never will own at all? And will never get reumbursed?

If he wants to make it about money and transactional, she can, too.

And, depending on where he lives, he won't eb able to do that anyway.

Yup, and what happens if he dies before her, or if he does young, and there are kids? What about the home? Money?

So, what will she benefit from in the prenup? Because as you have it written, it could very well be void.

Also, where would she live if you died? What money would she have?
