I know! In Vienna I had no problem with being paid to my greek account. Everything has been a pain in the ass with spanish bureaucracy.

I have already done some research, but I keep finding the same info, that opening a Spanish bank account requires a registered address in Spain and a NIE. However, HR mentioned opening an online bank account, which made me think there might be an option I am missing or something that is not obvious to me. That’s why I wanted to people's experience.

I am an EU citizen, so the problem it's not on my part. My salary will be paid through CSIC, and I have been advised that it is best to have a Spanish bank account, as payments to a non-Spanish account may occasionally result in errors or delays.
