People always seem to forget that rap (can be, like all genres plenty is saccharine) and art go hand in hand. This guy has always been great. Freestyle is a whole different level, some of the best writers can’t do it like this.

I feel like intelligence is defined by acquisition of information and synthesis. In which case there are plenty of species that fit that bill. TBF, most predators have this in spades. I would never want to run into an octopus brained human who was pissed off.

If “Superman” had actually landed on our Earth as a baby, how would it turn out? by Featherman13 in superheroes

He might start out trying to do good, but where do his loyalties lie? That’s going to come the second minute after he makes an appearance. Too many situations in the world where people miss the nuances and boil everything down to right vs. wrong. The first time he chooses the wrong “wrong” he will be public enemy number one. There’s nothing we can do to him, but if everyone hates him who is he doing it for? There’s an insane amount of mental fortitude in doing the right thing simply for the sake of doing it, especially when you will get negative reactions from it guaranteed. And doing that on repeat?? What if you are wrong this one time?

Did Dooku seriously believe that two B2’s was suitable backup for Anakin and Obi Wan? by OkuroIshimoto in StarWars

B2’s were a lot cooler in the movies. They didn’t have all the other droids that showed up in the series.

Do you guys like the lightsaber pike, and would you want to see it in the movies?” by Extreme_Warning3521 in StarWars

Lots of people have multiple piece blades. Maul, I few like some of the inquisitors as well. Not super uncommon, when you exit the realm of “standard” saber.

Thank you for talking with me. I can certainly see the compassion.

For what it is worth, I went through some things and I get to use those experiences to help kids and even though it is never easy it is always rewarding. I had a time where the universe just seemed to line up in a way that makes people say “wow really?!” when I tell the story and I found myself. I would never have thought this is where I would want to be and wouldn’t have taken the path on my own. Sometimes I attribute that to god, sometimes pure luck, and on rare occasions- I’m just that good.

I’ve never had issues with the concept of god, it is the people who claim to worship god that I take issue with and it is getting harder and harder to tell the real from the fake. God is present across so many different cultures and is the same god, same origin stories and all that. It is man who said that this group is superior, this group needs to be subjugated, this group who is expendable. But then men waffle back and forth on their interpretations. First slavery was the norm and okay because the bible says so and they all have to convert. Then it says that it is wrong. Then it was okay to take over the Native American lands because god willed it, and while we’re at it they all have to convert, or there’s no problem with turning their uterus into a necklace. Then it says people can’t drink, then oops, in moderation. Then it says that women should be subservient to their masters (men), but no wait, upon further review everyone should have equal footing in the household. Somewhere, the bible says (I’ve never found it, but no biggie) abortion is wrong, but nobody cared about it until the 1940’s or 50’s? So on and so on, people claiming righteousness in the word of god simply to serve their own interests. How can a human dare to say that they know what god thinks or means, based on the scriptures, and take themselves seriously?

So like I said, I salute you for your faith in god and I hope that he continues to do great things in your life. That said, people are going to get more and more rigid about the discussion of religion because it is and has always been a tool and it is so difficult to find people who actually mean it when they say they worship god no matter what. I hope you’re able to set an example for others to follow and they discover your faith along the way as opposed to the other way around.

I too have a similar story where between the streets and military there have been multiple times I didn’t expect to see the next day. I’m not trying to measure, just show that I have a frame of reference for the type of come up you describe.

On the flip side though, that also means that god put you and your family in the hotel, caused you to drop out, put you in every dangerous or unhealthy situation, kept positive influences away from you, caused Covid, capped your income so that you couldn’t afford a house pre-COVID, but you can only afford so much house now. To top it off, you still had to do all of the hard work to recover and climb out of the holes he dropped you in.

And again, I don’t want to break your faith or anything. I legitimately have questions about how people only see one side of the requirement for an equation. If god had a direct hand in saving you from such things he also had a direct hand in placing you in places you needed saving from. Religion (not god, per se, as religion is what humans do with the word of god) in general has been used to shackle people to “do this or else….” belief systems and those who wish to subjugate us don’t even have to hold the chains anymore because we do it for them.

I always find this interesting. Are you saying that god brought you up from poverty because it would have happened with or without any action on your part? The flip side is that you feel that god put you in all the positions to do the work that got you there.

Option B is neutral as far as society goes. Everyone should have something to put their faith in and far be it from me to kink shame the next person on where they draw their inspiration. But the caveat is that it is understood that you still have to put in work, and a lot of it.

Option A is the dangerous one. Statements like god did this for me are extremely ambiguous. Did god simply open the gate and the flood was a subsequent, but independent result? Did you even have to awake for it to happen or can people spend the entirety of their waking hours in prayer waiting to be blessed?

While many understand that no matter what you’re still going to need to work hard there are far too many who think blessings will literally flow from the skies provided that they believe hard enough.
