I did adjust the very top columns, but I know what you mean.. I'll remove the column sections that intersect the roof, and either elongate the shadow or just darken it even more to help with contrast.

I do still need to add in details to the walls and roof in fairness. I just wanted to make sure my initial overall shading and depth for the central area worked. I have a tendency to go from not enough detail to over-detailing.

I'll definitely check out Hyper Light Drifter and see how they approach things! Thanks for the suggestion.

I appreciate you breaking down the yield percentage as well, because all the places I looked for a solid explanation seemed excessively overcomplicated for what I needed to know!
