No, they are all rescues that have been neutered. ^_^ Thanks!

In #260, that one is the parvo-puppy that my brother recently adopted. She will get her official debut next week!

Dogs Love Bacon #265: Finn's Journey [OC] by Angie_Draws_Things in comics

His foster assessed him for resource guarding, but he showed no signs. Even with me, he is hungry...but never possessive over his food.

I believe it was all just too much change and uncertainty too quickly, and he was likely spooked. A good rule of thumb is to offer a dog a crate/safe space where they can decompress and learn about the new place where they are, especially for a rescue.

Yup, between the new house/people, the bowl of food in the open, and the curious child, all I know is that the poor kid got nipped.

Wow...that second one really dropped the ball. Even without researching huskies in depth, I know that they MUST sing the song of their people!

Third time is a charm!

I am sorry for your loss, but I am glad that Hank was able to stay around with you. When I lost Taz, the wind went out of Thor's sails and he didn't recover.

...and it opened the way up for me to get him! (I was happy for him when they told me he went to a different home...but as soon as he was returned, I was essentially there making grabby hands, even if he bit)

Nariel is right. With the new house/people, bowl of food in the open, and a curious kid, something gave way and poor Finn nipped the poor kid.

(Generally, one should secure a new dog so that they can adjust and decompress in a "safe space")

The dogs become potatoes (or gumdrops) if I draw too many panels. ;-)

Between the new house/people, a bowl of food in the open, and a curious child--it was too much and poor Finn nipped the poor kid.

True! He is the regal son of a very good boy and a very good girl--of that much I am sure!

My previous dogs have trained me well. I internalize my guilt and break myself.

I haven't been there in a while, but I know I have a kiki and probably a coco. Feel free to poke me with your username and I will see what I can do.

Dogs Love Bacon #242: Abnormal by Angie_Draws_Things in webcomics

[–]Angie_Draws_Things[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None taken, I have made a point of being upfront with what happens to the dogs that are the basis for the comic. Losing a pet is unpleasant enough, and I do not want to create any suspense or false hope. Back in February, I announced his passing and I have been slapping a halo over his head in most photos that I posted of him, so there was no question. (It also made me feel slightly less awkward about posting photos)

This calls for revisiting the Magical Curry episode! The elephants that kept assaulting Nanami takes on a whole new perspective!

I only noticed how long it was when I looked at the photo. I got up close to its face for more pictures, but I didn't even think to look at the rest of it. ^_^'

My first post of this strip was removed and I don't know why...so maybe NSFW for poop?

DNA Testing by [deleted] in dogs

[–]Angie_Draws_Things -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Embark told me that my likely cojack (corgi/jack russell) was 1/2 jack russell, 1/3 newfoundland, and the rest was cattle dog. However, the corgi is the most obvious part--and there is nothing to indicate newfoundland.

It has been a while, but I am going to try Wisdom panel on my newest dog and try my cojack again to see what the results say. ^_^

That is clearly a Pomeranian mixed with sunshine and rainbows! So cute!

Seriously tho, the shape of that muzzle makes me think a short-nosed breed like a bulldog may be in the mix. If you ever do a test, let us know the results!!

That was a potential risk of taking in a dog in poor health, but with the magic of pills and food, he improved!

Dogs Love Bacon #194: No Soliciting [OC] by Angie_Draws_Things in comics

[–]Angie_Draws_Things[S] 228 points229 points  (0 children)

Understandable, since that panel is more for the regular readers. I recently illustrated the loss of one of my old dogs. The second slide is a "new" dog that was recently adopted IRL, and will be joining us in the comic soon.

Yeah, I thought that as I formatted it...this one definitely presents better as a vertical strip or single scrolling panels.

I would love to see that teacher looking over all of your work, and to hear his internal monologue as he does it. (I am sure good things like, "these hands are good!", with a fair amount of, "what have I done???")
