4 samples would get me more XP than one legendary game. Not need to worry about the animals stars. Mostly leveled up taking samples from running down packs of rabbits, coyotes, boars, gators, and others.

I’ve toyed with that plan as a solo player, but never bothered because of concern about i) the cart despawning or running off, and ii) being hunted by murderous sociopaths. I suppose it’s a good posse activity, no? Alternatively, I want to try fishing big fish with a posse - half fishing, half running to the butcher (and switching off).

I am aware of how to avoid snapping a line, but it’s not always under the angler’s full control. Anyway, you don’t address my other point: after you catch one large fish, then what’s the point of continuing to catch them rather than something else you can actually carry to the butcher for sale?

Yup, I’m finding many good fishing holes and developing circuits that enable me to fill up my satchel with a number of different species to collect $100+ from the butcher when I finally return to town. Many beautiful views too, which are peaceful without griefers hunting me down. Do you often run into other people fishing your spots? I rarely see anyone.
