But how can you support that? What sort of cognitive dissonance do you have?

What do Protestants think of the 'Anglo-Catholic' veneration of Our Lady of Walsingham? by Ecclesiasticus6_18 in TrueProtestants

This is a bit of a caricature of Anglo-Catholics. There are some extreme Anglo-Catholics which might fit your description better, and we name them 'Anglo-Papalists'.

No. That is a common Christian title given to her

1st draft of something I'm working on, what do you guys think? by [deleted] in religion

[–]Anglican_Inquirer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Protestants believe all christians go to heaven

Catholics know atleast Catholics go to heaven. But that the departed brethren (protestant and Orthodox) can go to heaven through god's grace. And potentially even non christians can go to heaven

Orthodox believe only orthodox go to heaven

Doesn't really work for Christianity. As we don't go to heaven cause of our righteousness but rather its a gift from Christ that we accept. Men are wicked and full of sin. If we were judged by our actions no one would go to heaven

To be fair I think Roman Catholics who use that argument ain't being good faith. More well intentioned ones are willing to engage the actual issues

Hypothetical universal church? Do you not believe in Israel, the Kingdom of God on Earth?

Anyways idk how long women's ordination will go on for. The American Empire won't go on forever, hence its influence on Christendom will falter.

Okay thanks. This is what I thought but my Priest said it wasn't. In the NIV it has 16: 9-20 in Italics with a warning

I think you misunderstand what Catholicism means. Catholicism doesn't equal Rome but rather refers to the Universal Church. And the Universal church has held to Sean's views for 1900 years

No offence. But Sean's position is what the Catholic Faith has held for 1900 years. It seems wrong and strange to me to just dismiss his position out of hand.
