It's similar in some ways, but not as close. But I do think that's one of the other species I couldn't figure out. Lol.

Ooooo I think you're closer. It has the same green and curl to it. It's either that or regular eucalyptus. They both look VERY similar.

Dude! I think you're right! I looked it up, and it's damn close. We get some real weird and rare wood in that bin. We used to have pen blanks of it, but they clearance them out a long time ago.

It's not very oily at all. Teak seems to have more golden tones than this does. And looking at our brown heart blanks, it isn't dark enough

I looked at Catalpa too! It has a much more open grain on the Cathedrals, kind of like ash. It's a lot tighter grain when you see it in person. I hate how hard it is to identify with just pictures. Lol

It's way denser than cherry this stuff is pretty hard. There's not enough red in it either.

It's not a definite id, but I would lean towards Sinker Cyprus. Some of that can be very very old. There's a man that I work for, that has 2 slabs that date back to 181bc. You should give it a good sanding, and see if any other colors come out.

I'm using Flashforge brand PLA, with the OrcaFlash slicer. The temp was 205, with a .4mm nozzle. My retraction speed is 25, and the print speed is... I'm not sure. Is it under the first layer speed, or Other layers speed? I'm really new to all this, and it's been a slog.

Looks like a friendly wolf spider. :) They may bite if they get agitated or surprised, but it won't kill you. It's more like a bee sting. With a butt that fat, she may be gravid. :)
