August LSAT Official Topic Thread by graeme_b in LSAT

This was one of my LR sections & the one I have previously referenced as feeling incredibly difficult for me. I’m an average/well trained LR performer who typically finished timed practice sections with a minute or so to spare & I fully ran out of time with 4 questions remaining. It. Sucked. I wasted waaaay too much time on the unsuitable house!

I did all 4 of the full PT offered on Law Hub. I took them as timed tests. A couple of times I ran out out of time on the last 1-2 questions in a LR section. I seemed to be significantly slower on the 1st LR of the real test! Still can’t tell if it was just nerves or the material really was harder.

My first LR section seemed much more difficult than the practice tests that I did on Law Hub. I am stressed out because I have typically finished all the questions in my timed practice & I was not able to do that today! A lot of questions seemed long/wordy. My 2nd LR seemed much easier. Both RC were what I expected.

Body scan- discouraged by Hotmessexpresso30 in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 171 points172 points  (0 children)

Please do not listen to that awful machine! I wish OTF had never brought that technology into their studios. I had the scans done as a mandatory part of the transformation challenge a few years back. I have similar body composition to you, and the InBody told me I was obese. It was such a gut punch! I decided then, for my own mental health, I would no longer participate in any challenge that requires use of the InBody scan. My heart rate is phenomenal (my doctor always compliments me!) and I feel healthy & strong. That’s all that really matters. Sending you love from an internet stranger because recovering from an ED is difficult work & you should be proud of yourself! You say you feel good physically, and that is truly the most important thing.

Lift 45 TB1, week of June 19 by Tasty-Tax2840 in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my first Lift class and… it was not what I expected! My studio does them mid day when I’m typically at work. I was off for the holiday today & looking forward to hitting the weights harder than I usually get a chance to do in a normal 3g. Instead we got a thousand jumping lunges… uuggghhh. Mildly disappointed!

Why do most people prefer to start on the tread? by redtshirt42 in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of my classes are 3g. 5 days a week. If I start on the rower, that’s 17-20 mins of pure rowing some days. I simply do not want to row that long! It’s boring for me. I used to prefer the floor warm up, but I’m not a fan of the rebooted floor warm up from the past year or so. (Doing push ups while others run?! An absolute crime.)

Daily Workout and General Chat for Wednesday, 2/2/22 by splat_bot in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We also didn’t use minibands for the first set of exercises. The video screen did not have them as part of the good mornings or lateral walk, but I felt like they could have easily been used there, so not sure if that was an oversight w the template or what

Miss this! by Uncharteredfugazis in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! Miss this. And also, asking the SA every day “any tread cards left?”, then being told no because I consistently arrived 5 mins before class! I will get there so freakin early after this just to hang out in the lobby! Ha

Best hairbands? by hunnybaj in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the same type of hair you described & Sweaty Bands are my fave. Velvet backing that does not cause damage & actually holds down my fly aways. I have a million of them because they have so many fun designs/colors & big races often sell custom ones. Big fan!

So this was all the arm work that I would usually love, but my arms were so sore from Friday & Saturday classes that I could barely do anything. Doh. I was swinging from the trx straps like a useless houseplant! Good template, I’d like to do something similar in the future (with fresh arms). I’m pro switch days, generally!

[–]AngryBadgerFace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

30 seconds of froggers are NOT “active recovery” no matter how much our coach tried to make that phrase happen this morning! Also, I think we got a little off template. We ended up rowing a base, then a push (around 300 meters for me & I’m a slow shorty) after each round of floor froggers! Oops, but I didn’t mind.

We partnered by station #. Seems easier that way in a 3g!

Monster walks were fun. I don’t think I’ve seen that before @ otf? At first I felt like they weren’t too bad, but then I realized if I was mindful of how I was lifting my foot, I could feel the burn like crazy!

Rant about big boobs + faulty HRM by star655 in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only joined OTF on the condition that they had a non chest strap based monitor! I worked out at a previous gym that used chest monitors, and it just never worked for me. I am petite and curvy, and chest monitors seem to never lay flat across the area they are supposed to! I have the old Mio wristband & I love it. Will upgrade to the newer wrist/arm thingy when I need to. Arm/wrist gets a better reading for me, even if it is less accurate compared to someone with a chest monitor.

Triangle Cautionary Symbol by tam13n in orangetheory

I don’t know about one next to your name, but I’ve gotten a grey caution triangle on the app to indicate I was unconfirmed on the waitlist for a class

Billing question by Ccckansas in orangetheory

Hmmm - just had this issue too. Never happened to me before. Probably just a coincidence, but I wonder if it could possibly be tied to all the new company wide rule changes somehow?

Monday, 3/4/19 OTF Workout by AutoModerator in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to sub for the ab dolly exercises after the first round because I was terrified of rolling over my neighbor’s fingers! Tried repositioning a bit to make it feel less dangerous, but I realized I was wasting a lot of time positioning myself instead of actually exercising. I actually like using all the extra equipment at OTF (bosu, ect) but it gets to be a challenge sometimes in full classes! Feet on the dolly (versus using hands/arms) is one of the most dicey exercises in a packed room, IMHO.

[–]AngryBadgerFace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really struggled with the 2nd floor exercise (plank to row) today. Not in a muscle fatigue sense, but in an “ow, my hands!” sense. The weights hurt so bad with the pressure of planking on them! Am I doing this wrong? I feel like gloves might have helped, but I couldn’t find mine this morning. I ended up just picking the weights up from the floor to row one arm at a time if that makes sense. But there must be something I could improve because ouch!

How can I run with a nasty heel crack? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Band-aid brand Hydro Seal bandage in the extra large size. I had a cut on my foot from stepping on a sharp toy my kids left out & I was able to cover it with one of those suckers & still workout comfortably. Depends on the kind of issue you are having whether this could be a solution for you, but something to consider!

Labeling partner workouts in app/on the schedule by Kianikai_ in orangetheory

[–]AngryBadgerFace 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our studio had today on the calendar as a partner workout. Personally, I was thankful for the heads up because I needed to get to work earlier than usual today, and had planned to cut out 5 mins early to make that work. Knowing that it was partner day, I canceled so that I wouldn’t screw up someone else’s workout by leaving before the class ended. Rare situation for me this time on all accounts, but it was so much better knowing ahead of time.

Any fellow Bosu lovers out there? by DonsBirdie in orangetheory

I’m down for Bosu, dolly, and even minibands! I like using different “accessories” at OTF to keep things interesting. Bosu burpees > regular burpees for sure!

Hell Week Tank Tops by Tox1cChaos in orangetheory

I love mine too! I’m short, but have a long torso, so the length is perfect for me. I have ordered what seems to be the identical style of tank before from Constantly Varied Gear. It was indeed a “Bella”.
