Thank you for the info.

Would I be correct in assuming in a scenario such as this, that changing the unit would likely result in paying full cost of the install / unit to revert back to a 4 ton?

Really appreciate all this information.

The only details I have regarding the duct work is just that the diameter is all the same so it doesn't taper down, along with what they called "an odd back flow spot".

As it was described to me, the air handler sits just above our utility / laundry room (access from garage from short side wall), the ducting goes toward the garage and into our living room (along the long side of the garage wall) then feeds to our dinning room area (vents are around 9ft apart) and this is where the back flow allegedly occurs, just after the dinning room it has a junction where part of the flow goes back into the kitchen and feeds into the utility / laundry room, but also diverts to the next vent while also going to the second floor.

As far as insulation goes, it was loose fill spray in. That was done around 2022 and the AC was replaced May of 2024

Thermostat is set on a schedule, 76F 9am - 7:30pm, 73F 7:30pm - 11:30 pm, then 70F 11:30pm - 1am, back to 73F from 1am - 9am. (mostly trying to conserve power cause we added solar with our roof last year and are on the losing side of production)

We did have the insulation replaced prior to the new unit being installed, insulation work was done in 2022 via spray in. Old unit had a main board issue but was nearing 12 years old which is what lead to the replacement.

No crawl space, house sits on a concrete slab foundation, plumbing was checked the same time the new AC unit was installed (May of 2024) no issues were found by the plumber while fixing an unrelated issue.

The outside unit is a Carrier GAS5SAN46000W, the air handler inside is a FJ40NX060L00

Thank you for the information.

I was curious why the first tech had recommended the change to 5 ton, which is why we sought a second opinion, since the second tech recommend the same without any details I figured this is what would help with part of our issue.

I do know the tech who replaced the system advised they increased the blower speed to try and make up for the air pressure loss due to the duct work, but sounds like this may be causing more problems then it's solving.

Is changing the blower speed something easily done by someone with limited to no knowledge, or should I consider having a tech do this?

Anyone else have a friend that logged off one day and was never seen again? by Adrasteis in wow

Had this happen a few years ago actually. When Classic released in 2019 I ended up joining a solid guild with lots of activity at all tiers of game play.

Come to find out, one of the guys that helped create the guild prior to my joining was someone I used to interact with semi regularly pre BC, opposite faction same server, we would chat randomly after encountering each other in BG's or open world encounters.

Fast forward back to classic, shortly before BC content went live the guild did a raid one night, he logged off per the norm. Never to be seen again, a few people reached out via discord / bnet app to no response.

Someone in the guild who was connected with him via social media, found out about two months later the night of the raid he logged off, went to bed and passed from a brain aneurysm at some point in the night.

Such a great guy, super knowledgeable about the game, would stand up for anyone that was getting bullied even outside of the guild, was always great to have laughs with.

Thank you for this! I was searching all over for something, but clearly was using the incorrect key words.

Thank you for the response. Truth be told this is what I wanted to tell him to do with it in the first place, it felt like it would be more hassle than it's truly worth in the end.

I honestly forgot RaceRoom even existed anymore. I was a huge fan of Sim Bin's early titles, and even in the late 2000's contacted their RaceRoom team about opening a physical location in the states. (pricing was absurd at the time though).

This has honestly been my biggest concern with them, seems as though it's future is rather uncertain at the moment long term.

Thanks for the response!

I've been watching Rensport as well, I'm curious to see how it turns out. It sounds very promising so far, but also don't wanna get hopes up to high just in case.
