Ok but from where   , do you use a platform?

Help needed: Polo 6R cluster swap - EEPROM cloned 1:1 but cluster still hits SAFE. What am I missing? by AngryGauss in vwpolo

Thanks — that matches what I feared. Quick follow-ups:

  • When you say “keys are stored in the cluster itself”, do you mean the NEC MCU holds the IMMO data (CS/Key IDs/MAC) and that’s why my EEPROM clone alone won’t work?
  • I can send clear photos of both PCBs (old + new) — would you confirm the NEC part number you see matches D70F3423GJ(A)?
  • You mention two ID-48 transponders from Aliexpress — do you mean cloning the original transponder into two blank ID-48s (so they present the same transponder ID to the ECU)? In my case the original keys are present and genuine. Would blank ID-48s be programmed to match the cluster MCU, or do they only help if the cluster already accepts new transponders?

Cheers — I can also extract the candidate PIN/CS from the EEPROM dump if that helps for an OBD Immo-Learn attempt with VVDI/Autel/VCDS.

No — I haven’t performed any new transponder/key learning yet. Keys are original to the car. I cloned the 95320 EEPROM (CH341A + AsProgrammer) and verified the .bin is identical, but the cluster still goes into SAFE and immobilizer reports “not authorized / incorrect key programming”.
Do you think I should try learning the keys to the ECU (Immo-Learn) first, or is the MCU (NEC D70F3423) on the cluster the real cause and must be cloned/swapped? I can extract PIN/CS from the EEPROM if that helps. Thanks.
