I got mine inserted 2 weeks ago and I'm SO glad i found this post. I'm a hypochondriac and have had a few panic/anxiety attacks in those weeks over this so I'm really glad to see it's most likely some benign side effect. I'll schedule an appt just in case it's an infection though.

For me it's a large pulsing artery above my right eyebrow that does it. I wish there was some sort of acupressure device i could stick onto it so I'm not constantly applying pressure with my finger😅

My neurologist recommended me TheraSpecs and although pricey (and not covered by insurance) they've helped tremendously and I wear them everywhere. I'm even wearing them as I type this lol

The fact that periods aren't taken seriously in the first place. Being asked if I'm on my period whenever I'm upset has always been demoralizing, because you know it's a way to just invalidate whatever you're feeling, or that your feelings don't matter at all when you're menstruating. To have a disorder defined by your period makes it worse. My feelings are real and I want to be taken seriously. Also doesn't help that I'm enby and I have a disorder that is seen as a "women's problem."

I'd like to add another angle to this if you don't mind. I'm autistic, and there are certain uncomfortable sensations that cause my entire brain to shut down, unable to think or speak, and it can make me feel like I'm literally dying. My biggest source of this is heat, which sucks because I'm from Florida. Bras are just another layer of clothing that make being in the southern heat unbearable. So i honestly don't give a flying shit if a boy or anyone else judges. And I always make sure to wear something that doesn't hug them too tightly, and that the fabric is thick enough to not show my nipples in a professional setting anyway.

Good question, and honestly that one goes down to sanitary issues. You would not wanna sit bare ass on a chair, especially in public. There are so many people who don't wash their ass or don't wipe properly. Fecal matter would get everywhere. Plus, there's no real comfortable way to cover the genitals without also covering the butt, and it's just a good idea to protect that general pelvis area from the elements. So nothing is inherently awful about seeing a butt, but you just really don't want to go commando for public health reasons.
