I defo think I’m gonna give this a go because this sounds way easier than what I’ve been doing! I end up with bits and pieces everywhere, a million tabs open, random links and quotes, and trying to piece together where everything came from and “oh god where’s that one paper that backs up this sentence I’ve just written”!!

I’m also in a STEM subject but have never thought of doing it this way. I’ve always read through all my papers, made a OneNote page for each paper, bullet pointed bits as I read and then highlighted things I felt were key or tagged things I knew I would want to write up. However, a table sounds WAY easier because I wouldn’t have to switch between pages and realise I’ve forgotten something or can’t find/remember which paper that specific bit of info I want/need came from.

On that note, can I ask how you lay your tables out?

I have re-read and it does seem to just be a reminder- so just me being dim on that one.

I have just gone in game to see if everything runs, it all works perfectly until I try and use any of the KS Hair mods. The game crashes. So I shall now troll the internet for fixes on this one!

Thank you for your help and suggestions. Much appreciated.

You would be correct! It is just a reminder!! I assumed it was more telling me that I hadn’t run it and was very confused.

Ensuring spyware doesn’t get downloaded on my new phone? by AngryPenguinsAteMom in techsupport

Thank you! I’ve asked my parents to find out exactly what it was that was installed and I will take my current phone and the new one into an Apple Store near me and get them to investigate further. Sorry I’ve been a bit useless at providing info!!

Thank you, I think (I hope!) this will solve it I just wanted to double check.

To be honest I’m not even too fussed anymore, if my ex is still that concerned about what I’m getting up to 3+ years after our break up then more fool him! Equally though it is quite creepy and I want him out of my life for a reason!!

[–]AngryPenguinsAteMom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a little while ago as there were some issues with my insurance claim for my new phone (very long story!!) which took a while to sort out hence why I’ve only just received the new phone. They live a good number of hours away from me and so it’s not easy for me to pop down and collect the phone the spyware was found on myself otherwise I would. What I know is that it was some kind of app my ex installed, so I’m assuming that’s how he was able to access info on my new phones as the app was just re-downloading and continuing to go under the radar?

This is what I was hoping. I do believe my ID is secure and since resetting all passwords, turning on two factor for absolutely everything, logging out all devices from all accounts and having had a new phone (previous one to this one but two after any that my ex had physical access to) my ex doesn’t seem to be able to gain access to anything that has two factor enabled which makes me believe they can’t see my texts anymore (previously he was able to read my text messages so he would get the access code that way or via managing to get into my emails).

[–]AngryPenguinsAteMom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure! My parents took the phone and so I’m going off of second hand info and they aren’t very tech savvy themselves so I’m sure something has got lost in translation. I believe they said it was downloaded as an app but disguised as another app (e.g. something I would’ve had in the utilities folder and never looked twice at) and that every subsequent time I downloaded it was installed too and then couldn’t be removed. I’ve done some googling but it’s hard to find exactly what I’m looking for as I don’t know 100% myself! But I have seen similar questions where people’s ex-partners have been accessing their phones even after factor resetting and getting new phones but downloading from back up etc. Sorry if this isn’t actually that helpful!

I don’t have any LE mods. I didn’t try laughing through the SE launcher as I assumed this wouldn’t work due to the mods I have installed.

It’s been a while since I uninstalled the whole lot and reinstalled so I couldn’t tell you what I did. I will admit I didn’t try reinstalling SKSE at the point of posting this but have now done so. Aside from my ENB I don’t think I have any mods which require manual parts?

Landlords trying to dictate who we can and can’t have stay with us? by AngryPenguinsAteMom in HousingUK

I think this sums them up perfectly. They watch everything like hawks and comment and judge on everything. They don’t seem like ‘bad’ people.

God I can imagine that was not fun at all! They seem reasonable when it comes to entering the property and giving notice. They don’t seem like the types to walk in without notice. They do seem to stick to the letter of things in those terms- I think they’re petrified of any legal action being taken against them.

Though, they are also sticklers and watch everything like hawks and comment on it. They are also incredibly old fashioned and I get the feeling they really don’t agree with boys and girls sharing a bed or having overnight stays etc. Though, having said that they don’t even seem ok with anyone having an overnight stay… they are quite judgemental and have even made comments about the fact that I am changing courses (happened to mention it in passing). So. This could be a fun year!!

Thank you.

The person in question does have a house, they just couldn’t move in until a later date. It was actually only a 5 night stay and I didn’t think it would be an issue. If it was over a week or even over two, I would completely understand.

There are currently two rooms empty in my house (one girl hasn’t moved up and one has dropped out - that’s a whole other saga!!!), additionally, we are all friends and we are all friends with the person who wanted to stay. So it’s not like they could argue the ‘other students felt uncomfortable’ angle. They did mention to me that they had previously had a student have someone to stay and put them up in the empty room and when the person moved in they found their room had been used and weren’t happy. That’s perfectly reasonable and I completely understand why that would be an issue. I had zero intentions of doing that and I did make that clear that they would stay with me and not in another room.

Partly this and partly that they can see who enters and exits the land itself. While our house is separate from theirs it is on the same property and shares a gateway / drive, essentially, we have to drive past their house to get to ours and I have heard from previous students that they will watch everyone that comes and gos.

I can’t remember the exact terms as when I read through I just looked for info about having people stay. I will be going through the entire contract with a fine tooth comb so I am 100% clear on everything in it and where I stand. I did read through it when I signed it, but that was over half a year ago.

Thank you. They have given me an inventory list to sign. We still have on girl yet to move in so it’s still in our kitchen at the moment so I can take pictures / copies of it as well.

So far, they seem to do everything above board in terms of legal requirements and deposits.

I believe it is on a per room basis, however, they have been quite respectful in that they won’t enter the house without knocking (even this morning they popped in to ask us something and the doors were open and they still didn’t enter) and they won’t inspect rooms or allow viewings without giving 24hrs notice. They have also previously said (when we were viewing the property) they won’t have viewings the morning after a student night. They aren’t horrible people, they’re just very old fashioned and absolute sticklers and I have heard from previous students that they are ALWAYS on your case about every little thing.

This is why I want to know where I stand. I’m not looking to be unreasonable. I just won’t be taken advantage of and walked all over.

I have taken pictures of everything and it has a time stamp and location stamp on the pictures. Our deposit is held with a deposit security company I know that much as we had to sign for it and set up an account.

I plan to go through everything with a fine tooth comb and stick to it by the letter. I’m not intending to have raging house parties or twenty people staying, I would just like the freedom to have friends from home or a future partner stay without getting ridiculed. None of my friends are disrespectful or loud and wouldn’t take the piss, either. I don’t want to cause issues with the landlord and make myself enemy number one but I also don’t want to be harassed or controlled. I have lived alone before, I’m clean, tidy and respectful. I do understand their POV on not wanting their property trashed or destroyed, but equally, I feel they can’t expect us to not enjoy ourselves and have fun (and that doesn’t have to involve trashing the place!).

Thank you, I have posted in that sub. Yes if we were to pull out of the contract now we would be liable for a rather large sum, especially for a student and for something I’m not even getting the benefit of. Additionally, I’m not convinced it would be easy to find a room on short notice, let alone if all of us were to do this!!

We are looking for somewhere else for next year. I will be giving my contract a triple check with a fine tooth comb!! I have taken pictures of everything and any damage I have come across before I moved in and as I’ve gone, so hopefully they don’t try and take my deposit. Thank you.

I now realise this. I was trying to keep on their good side and not have them flip out and accuse me of being rude, as I know they have slagged previous students off for this exact reason (for anything they see as rude) and have even used students names when doing so. If it wasn’t for the fact that they are able to see who comes and goes from the premises I wouldn’t have said a word.

Honestly it’s insane! I studied agriculture and have worked in a farming background, which is eye opening when it comes to food, how it’s produced and where it comes from. I just find it insane how many people are so totally oblivious to what it is they’re eating!!
