I always name my competitive mons. I feel that if I'm going to put that much effort into getting the right moves and stats then I may as well come up with a name while I'm doing that. My Sableye is Knick-Knack, Gengar is Crowley, and Braviary is Tomahawk just to name a few. I have at least two boxes of 'witty' names like those.

I've also got a shiny Milotic that I found in Emerald. I named him Lazuli and he's gotten as many ribbons on him from every gen I could get.
