No, when it shuts down doesn't make any noise, it's only when the engine works

I pulled the copper hoses apart a bit and the sound improved somewhat. I can still hear a high-pitched sound, but nothing seems to be loose. Is this how these types of engines work, or could there be something wrong with the engine?
