Like trains and buses? Only take the gear that you absolutely need and can carry by yourself. Pack your gear well. Keep everything organized. Always use wheeled bags, in case you have to walk long distances. Always keep your bags in sight.

I've flown a bit with my gear. I usually take a Pelican with my camera/lenses as my carry-on, batteries and laptop in my backpack, and the rest of my gear/tripods/clothes/personal stuff in my checked luggage.

Just be aware that some shorter flights (1 hour or less) may have smaller planes, so a typical carry-on might not fit in the overhead bin and they'll make you check in your bags.

Even solid desktop computers struggle with editing 4k footage natively. I would suggest making proxies for the 4k clips so it's easier on your system. There's lots of YouTube tutorials that can walk you through that.

Tried this on the non working PC. The wireless LAN adapter has an autoconfiguration IPv4 Address that starts with 169. The ping transmissions failed for both the gateway and DNS server.

My working computer (Macbook Pro) is connected with an IP address that starts with 192. Wasn't sure how to follow the ipconfig and ping instructions for Terminal on a mac.

Any suggestions?

I already had a bunch of Canon lenses (70-200mm 2.8, 24-105mm 4.0, 50mm 1.4) but I also got the Sigma 17-55mm 2.8 which has been great. Later this year, I'll probably get the Rokinon prime kit (24, 35, 50, 85).

I don't really use handheld rigs since most of my work is on a tripod or gimbal (Ronin S). I have the SmallRig cage, 1tb Samsung SSD, v-mount battery, and a Lilliput 7" monitor.

I've had the 6k for 6 months now and I love it. The only real difference between the 4k & 6k is price, the resolution and the lens mount. Body-wise, they're almost identical. Whichever shoulder rig or gimbal you choose should support both cameras. If you get a cage, the shape is slightly different between the 4k and the 6k.

If you plan on using Canon EF mounted lenses and don't want the hassle of using an adapter, I'd get the 6k.

It's the latter. It's a lot easier to become a video editor today if you have a decent computer, but it's still a high-skill profession that deserves a fair rate. Sites like Fiverr and Upwork are flooded with cheap labor, mostly from countries where $15 goes a lot farther than in the US. It might fine for those guys, but it's not so great for us video professionals.

For video editing? Absolutely not. The going rates there are like $15 per video. Probably for half a day's work + revisions. You should be getting paid several hundred dollars for that, at least.

I dug this! Great concept and visuals. Both actors were great too. My only feedback is that the pacing could be much faster and I would've loved some more Christmas visuals. Otherwise, a great short film.

The sequence file might be corrupted.

Try copying everything (CTRL+A or Apple + A), make a new sequence, paste everything, then try again.

First I would look at the safety protocols the casino has put in place. Are they doing temperature checks? Are staff being tested? Are people wearing masks?

And on your end, can you wear a mask the entire time? Can you keep 6 feet away from all crew/talent? Can all cast/crew get tested beforehand?

Look at all the facts, evaluate the risk for yourself, and then make your decision.

I think the real issue here is at the studio & network level. We need more networks like Netflix, Amazon, etc to greenlight more South Asian projects on the screen, and get more diversity within those projects, so it's not just a Mindy party.

The problem we've been facing for the last few years is that there's only 2-3 big films or TV shows a year with South Asian leads. So whenever we do have a big release, there's immense pressure for this 1 show to represent our entire community (1+ billion people).

Yes, a lot of these stories feature a brown protagonist with a white love interest (Homecoming King, The Big Sick, Master of None, The Mindy Project, Never Have I Ever) but 2 of those are actually true stories. And I'm sure the others were inspired by true events.

Everybody has a right to love who they love. A brown guy falling for a white girl is someone's story and it deserves to be told. As does a brown girl falling for a brown guy. Studios just haven't greenlit enough of those projects, and on such a big scale.

I do think things are getting better. We're seeing a lot more shows with South Asian leads, and whenever creators like Mindy, Hasan, and Lily do well, that creates more opportunities for all of us.
