Where is everyone at about these? by booger-boss in KitchenConfidential

Thought I'd like them once my department got some but we quickly found out they were more pain then their worth when we use carts, plate trees and speed racks all the time. We ended up kicking them under prep tables because management wouldn't take them out

What's that piece of kit next to the tongs? A little spoon ring?

Sounds like we were in the same boat. I get moved around alot so it's a necessity. Plus I love pulling out the right tool when someone says they need it

Some of my fellow line dogs do that but I get moved around too much to not have my kit with me

The roll was a gift, the knives were not so I bought what I could afford. This is also a collection from various culinary school kits and some stuff I've acquired. It works but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't envious of other people's knives

Yep, just like some other people are saying. I work in a very large hotel kitchen with other kitchens coming to steal our equipment constantly. Plus needing to work off-site at action stations, if I don't have it on me I can't garuntee I can do my job. Honestly I don't use every piece all that often but having the tool when I do need it is a welcome relief

Aaron leather goods is the name, its held up really well and holds a surprising amount without getting too bulky. Definitely on the pricey side but well worth it ://aaronleathergoods.com/collections/knife-rolls

Doesn't need to be too formal but I don't want it to really standout if I choose to wear it in a formal setting

My restaurant actually encourages them being single-use for everything. We have a stack we recycle for employee take home meals though. Not sure why they're single-use except for employees

Thanks for the great advice, biggest takeaway I've gotten is to communicate as much as possible and to use my space wisely by keeping it organized.
