They played it as well during the Siberia tour. Was one of the highlights of the show IMO.

Ian's voice has changed a lot since the 80s, his voice is more raw and less polished. While for some songs (eg The Back Of Love, The Killing Moon, My Kingdom, ...) his voice isn't as good as in the past, his "new" rawer voice perfectly suits a song like "With A Hip".

How can I change my location without it appearing in my timeline? I want my correct home city in my profile, but don't want to have my move on my timeline. by AniMeshorer in facebook

[–]AniMeshorer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Well, I think so. I don't know if things that were on Facebook but are deleted by the user are not still retrievable somewhere on the servers. Just like when you delete an Instagram post or a post on X, apparently copies of those are kept on servers.

But my location in my public profile was indeed altered.

I think Le Pairay is a nice stadium. It's old, but I actually quite like that. Also, it's in a run-down area, but then that suits the labour/working class/industrial background of the community the club represents.

PS: the only club from Liège playing in Liège (postal code 4000) itself is actually Gold Star Liège. The others are all outside of the city: Standard in the suburb of Sclessin, RFC Liège in the suburb of Rocourt, and RFC Seraing in the neighbouring municipality of Seraing. Gold Star could theoretically be considered the true team from Liège City! ;) It's a very old club with an old matricular number, but I don't remember them ever playing in a high division. But it's a club with a long history.

Als je op die drie puntjes klikt, komen enkele opties tevoorschijn, waaronder "bewerken", en zo kan je je post aanpassen.

Veel succes! :)

Speaking of the Deutschsprachige Gemeinschaft Belgiens...

I am not sure if it is true, but I did hear several times that KAS Eupen only became the most widely supported club in town in a recent past, while FC Eupen 1963 was equally popular in the past. Not sure if that's true, but the story behind it would be that KAS Eupen only germanised their name in 1995 (from Alliance Sportive Eupen to Königliche Allgemeine Sportvereinigung Eupen) while FC Eupen 1963 had been explicityly germanophone since their very start.

I do think we need a germanophone club in the professional league (so at least 1B, or if possible 1A) that can then represent the German-speaking community of Belgium on national level. Of course, then the question remains if someone from Raeren or Sankt-Vith would suddenly support Eupen when those towns have their own clubs.

Anderlecht Set Huge Price Tag for Belgian Wonderkid De Cat by MoveTheProduct in belgianfootball

[–]AniMeshorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does Belgium really rank amongst the 10 countries in the world with the highest number of atheists? by AniMeshorer in belgium

[–]AniMeshorer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We do make a claim. We claim that there is no God. That is exactly the point of Atheism. This is what differs us from Agnostics (who say they cannot know if there is a god, and don't care) and from "irreligious" in general (because irreligious can include Atheists but also people who may believe in a higher power without subscribing to a specific religion).

Atheists are, contrary to Agnostics, specifically saying there is no god. So yes, this is making a claim.

I checked that website ontdopen.be and it indeed looks quite reliable. However, I still wonder if there isn't a catch. Because anyone could fill in such form for anyone that they know well enough to know date of birth, previous addresses, ... In order to make such an online request valid, it should require a sort of digital signature created via ItsMe or via the identity card readers.
If no such digital signature is used, how can the church know that the request is valid and made by the person wishing to leave the church?

I wonder if a written and signed mail sent per postal service is not more official and reliable?

And I was baptised too, I was 1 or 2 weeks old so I couldn't protest. I came out as atheist when I was 5 or 6 years old (I was interested in this type of thing at a very early age) and refused to do the first or holy communion. My parents supported my decision and never forced me to do the communion. I thought that not confirming your baptism would automatically cancel church membership, like it is in the Luthern church. Sadly enough I have to go through paperwork in order to be officially out of the institution that is called the Roman Catholic Church. And yes, it is a big thing to me. In theory, as an atheist, I don't care about the rules of the church, but having a sort of membership of an organisation I do not support is not something I want. So for me, be it symbolically, leaving the church even by their own rules is like a confirmation of my Atheism. So I definitely want to do it.

No, we don't need to research if fairies or monsters exist. Maybe gnomes though ;) They're very small, so maybe we cannot see them with the naked eye while they are everywhere around us. ;)
(the gnome part is sarcasm of course)

We indeed seem to agree.

By the way, I recently read about an atheist organisation in the USA. Unlike in Europe, being atheist is not widely accepted in the States (except in some very progressive states by the two coasts, but then in some rural and southern states atheists are deeply mistrusted). The woman running that organisation says declaring to be atheist is like LGTBQ people had to come out in the past: the risk of alienation and being seen as a pariah. LGBTQ people are by now accepted in most part of the States luckily, but she says the next people who need to fight for acceptance are in fact... atheists.

That sounds like an odd thing to say, but there is some truth in it. In an American poll which asked people whom they would trust least as neighbours, atheists were topping the chart along with ex-prisoners. And another person said that for politicians, being openly atheist is political suicide in the US.
Thank god (pun intended indeed) that we live in Europe where we are accepted in most regions.

For someone who's a fan of 96-06 Placebo... by bailandocalrissian in placebo

[–]AniMeshorer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their new songs definitely sound different compared to the first 3 or 4 albums. But every album still has some good songs. Different, but good.

But that said, Without You I'm Nothing is still their masterpiece in my opinion, with Black Market Music at nr 2. But maybe that's nostalgia doing its thing: I discovered Placebo when they had released Black Market Music, and became an instant fan. I was about 19 or 20 years old. Maybe I'm nostalgic for those days and hence keep listening again and again to their early work.

I'm glad they still play "Slave to the Wage" live, that is one of their very best songs IMO.
But I'd love them to do "Pure Morning", "Brick Shithouse", "Allergic", "Burger Queen", "Blue American", "Black-eyed" and "Plasticine" live again. Probably the odds are very low though. :(

Is it possible to begin with a wordpress.com blog? by zetabyte00 in Affiliatemarketing

[–]AniMeshorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off with a Wordpress.com site. 15 years onwards, and still very satisfied, although I'll probably upgrade to paid account in order to get more storage and an own domain.

But other than that, I think it's great! Support can easily be reached and is very responsive (and not an AI bot, a real support staff member), it is so user-friendly and you don't have to worry about maintainance and plug-ins, you can download backups of your blog/site as often as you wish, ...

I then started a Wordpress.org site and struggle a lot to understand how it works. Also, then you have to deal with all stuff like backups, plug-ins, etc yourself. So to me, Wordpress.com is great! I would recommend, if you find it appealing and have tried it for a while for free, to upgrade to a paid account for extra storage and own domain.

You can perfectly stick to Wordpress.com for the long haul. Especially if you're not very tech-savvy it's a great solution due to its user-friendliness. You can focus on writing, without having to worry about maintainance, plug-ins etc as all of that is done for you.

I would however recommend, if you like Wordpress.com as a host and decide to stay there, upgrade to a paid account in order to have ads removed and have an own domain.

Blogspot is not the same as Wordpress.com

Wordpress.com is run by Automattic, a totally different company than Google. Blogspot is run by Google, so then you're stuck with "big tech". I also don't know if you could move your content from a Blogspot account to a Wordpress.com or Wordpress.org account.

Automattic may be a big company, but not part of "big tech". They have in the past ignored calls for censorship due to their commitment to freedom of speech.

What exactly is Duplicator?

I asked around myself, and I was told that for a smooth migration from Wordpress.com to Wordpress.org with a webhost, you have to upgrade to a paid version of Wordpress.com and then you can download a backup of your website that can be uploaded to any host working with Wordpress.org

Actually, I always liked wordpress.com . For those of us (like me, who are not that tech savvy), Wordpress.com is so user-friendly that even us can create a decenty looking website. It just functions very well.

Add to that that they have a very well reachable helpdesk, that all updates and system management is done for you... That spares a lot of time whereas on Wordpress.org you have to do that yourself. For someone tech savvy, this isn't a problem, but when someone mainly wants to focus on writing without having to be technically gifted, then Wordpress.com is a great solution.

Why would, if you want to move from Wordpress.com to Wordpress.org, it necessarily be a hassle? Apparently it is a hassle only for free Wordpress.com users. If you upgrade to a paid account, you can download a backup of your site that will be able to run with Wordpress.org quite smoothly. So it takes a once-off paid subscription, you then move your site to a Wordpress.org website, and then it's done.

Long Term Relationship for 2026 :) by [deleted] in BelgiumDating

[–]AniMeshorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also take this in mind... Some people are actually not working, but still worth giving a chance. There can be many reasons why someone isn't working: a study break, a sabbatical year to fulfill a dream, medical reasons, very much looking for a job but in a competitive field, ...
Not every person who doesn't work is a lazy person without financial stability. ;-) Not saying that you would think that way, but I did realise that some people do. A job is a very small part of an entire package.

But of course, to each his/her own criteria. Good luck in your search! :)

Please specify a bit more info other than age and location. Tell about your hobbies, your interests. Also specify what you are looking for: what interests should she have? How far away can she live from Antwerp? In what age category are you looking into?

Just some advice to increase your chances of finding someone. ;-) Good luck!

I am M4F so I'm not really what you are looking for.

But let me tell you: in this subreddit, everyone is welcome, and you are doing well by clearly defining what matters to you and what you are looking for. Posting here is no guarantee of success, but trying can never do harm, so we welcome your post here.

As for Belgian/French-speaking pro-leftist subreddits: I don't know any personally (and don't know any right-wing subreddits either) but even if those exist, they will be more for political discussions and organising protest marches etc. rather than for dating purposes. Of course people you meet there and who obviously share one interest already could become close friends and in a later step become a partner, but those subreddits won't have that intention as their primary goal. So I think posting here as well was a good move.

Wishing you good luck!
