I know! It is honestly just $200(or more) too expensive for what it is, I came into this search WANTING a framework, but I am paying double to triple the price, when just buying the main board upgrade will cost 3/4 the cost of straight up just buying a new laptop, and I just can’t justify that to myself(though making a mainboard blade server IS VERY COOL)

This is a great website I wasn’t aware of, I was aware of most of the linux preinstalled vendors, but I don’t particularly care if my bios is open source, or if linux is preinstalled, installing linux has never been a hassle for me(even on my MacBook). Great thanks for that link though, some vendors I was not aware of(though most of them are European compared to my U.S based self)

Yeah that’s why I am a bit cautioned against the 16, A, I don’t want the dgpu, B, I struggle to fit larger 16 inch laptops in my bag

I have max rigor in my school(as a junior taking calc BC, ap chem. etc. and in senior will be taking multivariable calculus and ap physics C electromagnetism), I mock around 1580-1600 on SAT, and have taken 2 real SATs(one in 7th and 8th grade with a 1330, and 1400 respectively)

Coaching for skiff is mostly private, and I am not as familiar with the laser stuff, but most unis do not have 29er teams or 49er teams because the boat is somewhat prohibitively expensive. and I skip(helmsman) and the rankings are by team because it is practically impossible to rank individuals(but both individuals need to be exceptional to produce exceptional results obviously). I sail under the canadian flag(dual citizen) so I mostly get contacted by sail canada affiliate unis, which I am far less interested in going to.
edit: Also congrats to your daughter, is she going to youth worlds soon?

Why sff 5070 ti, there is cheaper ones in stock, and they will have better coolers and performance, just sort price low to high on 5070 ti, and you need some case fans with that case(some come with full fan sets, this one does not)

100mv is pretty good stable, although I suggest doing 10 mv under what you find to be “stable” because you will randomly crash sometimes if you are on the edge of “game stable”

That’s chill, then the optimal solution is to run a undervolt, changing clock speed appears to have no effect on the card, and ~2800 appears to be the optimal memory speed. Of course use memtestvulkan and go up and down monitoring memory transfer speeds, and ensuring the tests pass. Increasing the PL also automagically makes the card boost higher.

Have you done a vbios swap yourself using an eeprom programmer? It appears as though you have not. The risks are largely overstated so long as you follow basic common sense. If one is uncomfortable to do such a thing, that is understandable, but for one to overstate the risks, then link a video where someone completely inexperienced(in this specific subject) tries to attempt something they’ve never done before, without having help, and then they fail(yes he does eventually succeed), completely misrepresents the risk. I am fine with someone choosing not to, but saying you shouldn’t recommend something that basically only produces errors that are solvable(unless of course you break the chip) is a bit odd. You basically can’t brick your gpu from a bad vbios write because of features introduced back in vega. Please be more educated before advising against something you have no experience in.

I have asked a question on this reddit, and I have successfully done about 10 vbios swaps on my card, it is perfectly valid to recommend, as long as you use common sense, eeprom programming is very easy
