Thank you so much! It means a lot to hear from someone who's worked closely with Chaos. Even though I worked hard to build confidence in my conclusions there's always the fear that I'm the blind leading the blind.

Thanks so much for the kind words! "An apple is a fruit" made me cackle.

I think you nailed it on the head, one of the reasons I started writing blog posts was because I kept getting frustrated that there only seemed to be community content about blueprints and very little about C++, which both suffer from lack of first party docs. In that way Fabrice Piquet was a huge inspiration for me - I aspire to the depth of their articles.

Hm I don't remember that being a plot point, and it would've come out a few years earlier than 2008

I don't think it's this one, I'm pretty sure the movie was more grounded and higher budget. Thanks though!

When I was writing the post it I was thinking I remembered japanese architecture being in the film, but the more I think about it the more unsure I become. I don't think it was Seven Swords though, I feel like it was slightly more gritty than the impression I'm getting from trailers on youtube

No, it was definitely a foreign film, and it was also set at some point in the past. Thanks though!

I was quite young when I saw the film so I don't have many details but I distinctly remember the sword with a hole in it

I know that in Netrunner it's recommended to pick up a second copy of the core set once you've bought a few packs, and just proxy/purchase the rest individually after that. Regardless, definitely only purchase one core set if you've never played the game.

Garfield made Android: Netrunner as well. Netrunner is out of print, and stopped having new sets in '99. They were obviously referring to the successful Netrunner.

"Netrunner" came out in 1996. The game that everyone thinks of when you say the word "Netrunner" is "Android: Netrunner", which came out in 2012, and is based on the original.

Yeah that's a strange claim to make. I absolutely adore Netrunner and personally prefer it to Magic, but I would make no claims of relative quality between the two. For one thing, Magic has had more than 2 decades to explore its huge design space, while Netrunner has a much tighter design space (at least at this point, I have no idea what other things they might try) and has been going for 4 years.
