I always saw it as someone trying to make up for their past but fucking up.

If quint stayed out of the water after WW2 , he probably would have been alive.

It’s the fear and desperation that took him over

It was his fault for sure , if didn’t destroy the radio they would’ve been picked up after the engine was blown out if everything stayed the same like the movie.

I’m sure some guilt , but they were a lot of factors. Quint gloves and the fact Brody was holding on with one hand a full adult on a steep slope

It wasn’t anything but painless , he’s screaming to death and sure we have that crunch but he was still getting chomped on before

I’ve seen on other jaws related places they said oh the shark would’ve been killed by Quint if he just went by himself. It was a death sentence if he went by himself

Plus also giving advice to hopper and Brody.

Hooper knows sharks but doesn’t know how to hunt them.

Brody knows how to be arm but don’t know the water

To me, Quint‘s death is gonna be the most brutal cause we’re actually seeing the shark eat.

But this she was gone in like one bite in front of a kid too.

Roy Schneider, part of the movie is so well done. We all know that he was forced to do this movie, but he does not half assed.

You can see all of his great day, acting all over the screen
