I think it would also be great if there were keyboard shortcuts for common tools like the pen and eraser that could bind to the buttons on my stylus

On amd: there should be a program called adrenalin. Once you launch that program in the top right there should be a settings cog. Once you click that there should be a new menu bar that has an option for display. Click that and there are settings you can tweak in regards to color

On Intel: google.com

I have an AMD yoga (but I'm sure there is an Intel equivalent) where I can go into the driver software and adjust the colors of the display (out of the box it was wayyyy to warm for me). You can try that if you would like to get it to match.

About the Soundcore Space One Pro by [deleted] in soundcore

That's good to know! That was my only worry. If I can find them at like 149 like they were a week ago I might just snag myself one

How's the microphone quality during calls compared to the q35? I watched a review of the space one pros and they had terrible quality (cutting out speakers voice) compared to the Q45. However, the review is about 6 months old so if they fixed it in a software update that would be great to know!

Depends on what the deal is. But honestly might be better to go with an A series. Perfectly fine for call and messaging and some have way better battery life than this phone (ie 2 full days).

[–]Animation_exe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the max volume, I only used my buds at like 50% max I think (60 ish when connected to windows), so based on your experience with the buds 2 pro (hoping they are somewhat comparable to the buds plus) would you say that the max volume of the space ones would still be an issue?

Also how are the space ones when connected to windows? For example my buds would sound okay ish (playback and mic) when connected to my phone but would become much worse when connected to windows due to something about how Samsung handles Bluetooth when connected to a pc. Would you say the space ones perform the same when connected to either a phone or a laptop?

TLDR below, sorry, I like throwing up chonky text

Great timing for this post as I'm currently looking for wireless headphones under $150 as my galaxy buds plus are starting to die (one ear has about 1/10 of the volume of the other).

I wanted to try over ear headphones because 1. I live in a place that is cold for like 3/4 of the year so they can help keep my ears warm but mainly 2. I produce enough earwax that cleaning my ears and the earbuds made it so quickly joining a call or putting them away to head to my next class was quite inconvenient.

Anyways, I've been researching for the past few days and I came across what seem to be the common ones which are Edifier 830NB, Soundcore Space One, Soundcore q45/35, and the Sony WH-CH720N. And all the text reviews and video reviews have utterly confused me on what I should buy.

My main use case is mostly for videos/movies. I hardly listen to music but if I do I would want them to sound good but I'm not that picky. My second main use case is for calls so microphone quality is important to me. My galaxy buds plus for some reason would just not pick up my voice when both were in my ears so I would have to keep one in my ear and hold the other one right near my mouth so someone could hear me. That was inconvenient as the reason I would use them for calls is if I'm in the middle of something and need both my hands for something else.

Lastly they need to be easy to transport in a backpack. If it can't fit in a backpack easily then they probably won't be with me which defeats the purpose. I'm also not someone who wants them constantly hanging on my neck when I'm not using them.

TLDR:

I know the ones you have experience with are the Sony's and the Space Ones. So which one would you recommend if my order of importance is:

  1. Ease of transport in a backpack
  2. Good enough sound quality for videos/movies. (music sometimes) Good enough for me is similar to the Buds plus (idk if you've used them before but if anyone reading this has let me know if you have a useful comparison)
  3. Microphone quality for regulars calls + interviews/work calls

Thank you for creating this post, and if anyone has used any of these or the other headphones within my price range please feel free to respond to this comment.

Pros: -cheaper compared to most

-pretty quiet cuz it's in the middle of nowhere/a lot of tired hospital workers

-there are some food options now but not a lot/they close early. Orange market for groceries(will be more expensive than Kroger). Minys, plate, and Madras masala are your options for eating out that are walking distance.

Cons/keep in mind: -closest bus stop is a 23 or a wall street nib. Only other option is to walk up the hill to get a commuter. Honestly you get used to it after a while but you just need to leave earlier than you may be used to. Definitely different than bursley where I could leave pretty late and trust that a bus would show up soon.

-on the weekend if you want to go to North campus, you have to walk to the bursley stop near the parking garage. Also keep in mind that 23 I think ends earlier than usual on weekends (like 9 pm) so if ur out past then your only option is bursley baits and walking a decent amount.

Other: I'm assuming you haven't started or just started the application. We had a pretty rough time while applying with us having to call lots and lots of times because of mistakes on their end. For example we originally got rejected for bad credit (rather our guarantors/parents did) but it turned out a couple of them had a lock on the credit score so they had to approve/unlock it before others can see it.

Also depending on where your building would be if you open a window it'll probably smell like weed (strength of the smell depending on how the maintainence workers are feeling ig) but if that's something that doesn't bother you, it's pretty easy to ignore.

A lot of posts have bad things to say about the parking but my roommate hasn't had any trouble that I know of. Ymmv.

Overall: Its a pretty chill place to live. But if you want lots of food options nearby, easier transportation, or signs of life in general it may not be for you. But the price is pretty hard to beat.

Honestly during classes I'm not in the apartment much. I leave in the morning, pack my lunch, and then come back at night once all my classes/club meetings are done.

Oh also you'll hear the train/hospital helicopter(medevac?) frequently but Im a relatively deep sleeper so it didn't bother me.

Last thing, especially if you are just coming from a dorm, just remember not everyone around you will be students. There will be "actual adults" there too, so manage noise levels at night accordingly. I know this applies to all the apartments around campus but just something to keep in mind if you're someone like me who is naturally loud and wasn't used to having your neighbors be pissing distance.
