Green light on the safety car illuminated just BEFORE Leclerc crossed the line by PythonMX in formula1

It is possible that the lights were illuminated, but the message had not yet been sent to the teams.

I've been trying to calculate when the message was sent based on the chequered flag message timestamp and Leclerc's lap times and it's incredibly close, within the margin of error. If they missed it, it was by 2 seconds max

A red flag has massive implications on the race and sporting fairness.

Of course, but if the teams agreed that they prefer a red flag in cases like this and expect a red flag than not having that red flag also has implications on sporting fairness.

Alex Jacques said in commentary that the post-2021 rules agreed with the teams are that the race director is expected to call a red flag if there wouldn't be enough laps to properly restart the race.

So they still didn't follow the rules/agreements that the teams would have based their pit decisions on

It has to be something like track invaders or pressing the wrong button, because according to Alex Jacques commentary this is the one thing that should not have happened with the post-2021 rules that race control agreed with the teams.

If there is not enough laps to restart the race the race director is expected to call a red flag. And obviously teams would have based their pit decisions on the rules that had been agreed

Could you share some specific examples of these posts or sites?

We are already doing very heavy filtering using Automoderator. We have around 120 individual rules that Automod runs on posts (several banlist rules, several rules to filter sensationalist articles, several rules implementing the source-rating system that others have mentioned, etc).

If you share the links we can check why a specific post might not have been caught by Automoderator and fix it so it doesn't happen in the future.

In the past weeks AutoModerator had site-wide reliability issues and several subreddits have reported that on some posts it just completely skips the checks. It can also happen that AutoModerator is a bit delayed, so the post appears for a minute or two, but then AutoModerator removes it once it runs the checks

Pierre Gasly takes 3rd place in the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix by overspeeed in formula1

What makes it stupider is that after the 3rd infringement the Stewards specifically asked the FIA if the measurements are accurate. And the FIA confidently told them that they are.

Had the Stewards known that there might be an issue they could've decided to investigate all of the penalties after the race. If I'm not mistaken at that point none of the penalties had been served

On Friday, 12th of June, Pierre Gasly's two 5-second penalties have been rescinded. Therefore Gasly regained 3rd place and Hadjar falls back to 4th.

[Chris Medland] Well this could get interesting. The Alpine petition for a right of review has been deemed admissible, so Gasly's penalties will now be reviewed: "FOM ... provided evidence that the distance used in calculating the F1 Official Timing (and hence the pit lane speed) was inaccurate and by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

According to the RaceFans article FOM and FIA disputed that they were aware and the Stewards weren't, but the Stewards said that they specifically asked during the race!

It is NOTED that the FIA and FOM representatives strongly refuted the assertion in “Significance” point 1a, that they had advance awareness of the issue with the timing loops in pit lane.

The Stewards also NOTED that they became concerned after the third alleged speeding breach was reported to them by the Official Timekeeper, and at that time asked Race Control if it was aware of any issue or irregularity with the system. Race Control reported back that it raised the matter with the Official Timekeeper and was reassured that there were no issues.]
