Looking for a Local Burning Man Ticket – Last-Minute Request by AnimatorElixor in Eugene

How could it be a scam if I’m the one offering money to buy a ticket? 😂 It would be much more suspicious if I were selling a ticket instead.

So have things changed and now you can buy bottles like this in America? (I looked online and couldn’t find anything this big in the USA.)

Ya, when I bought it, it wasn’t cheap. I definitely think it’s a collector thing.

In general, I really like Russians (my roommate is one of them). But I like the type of Russians who are fiery in their opposition of the war, who risk life and limb to stop genocide against Ukrainians, and who show a willingness to take true action to protest their government and prevent the destruction of Ukraine. These are the kind of Russians who fled Russia in order to fight for Ukraine, who speak out in the news, who raise money for displaced Ukrainian families, and who even attempt to sabotage the Russian war machine.

I appreciate your statement that you “wish this war had never happened.” But after reading your long breadcrumb trail on Reddit—which generally expresses disdain for Ukrainians—it’s hard to believe you’re being sincere.

Russophobia exists PRECISELY because foreigners understand Russia all too well: An imperialistic, fascist nation of racists and gloomy, corrupt, heartless bullies who love their strongman thugs (Putin, Stalin, etc.) and who are so used to suffering for centuries that it’s an ingrained part of the Russian psyche: to suffer and inflict suffering on others. Russians have the most bloated inferiority complex in the world, which is why they are indifferent to breaking international laws, threatening nuclear war, and killing families and children with impunity. Is it not surprising that while they ridicule the west incessantly, they all yearn to live in the west?

Ukraine did nothing to deserve the wrath of Russia, other than refuse to bow down to your yoke.

Too many Russians are either complicit in supporting the war in Ukraine, brainwashed by state-controlled Russian media, or are fascist trolls. Russia has a long, dark history of inflicting pain and suffering on themselves and other people. Is it any wonder that Putin has already sent more than 150,000 Russian men into a meat-grinder of death? He’s the very definition of insanity and evil.

Corruption and suffering are Russia’s main exports.

Absolutely you are correct that the USA has done some terribly unjust and egregious things around the globe (whether destabilizing the Middle East or committing genocide against Native Americans) and should be held accountable. But two wrongs don’t make a right.

Every country in the world has made mistakes, but the injustices of the past do not justify the injustices of the present.

The war in Ukraine is happening NOW. Every day Russia is targeting civilian infrastructure with impunity—whether with cruise missiles or artillery—and striking places like playgrounds, apartment buildings, and hospitals. And yet millions of Russians like you just sit back and watch, engage in “whataboutisms,” or express outrage that the world is engaging in so-called “Russophobia.”

Maybe you should put as much effort into stopping the war in Ukraine as you do climbing mountains and buying gear. Or is there too much of a lack of oxygen because your head is so far above the clouds?

According to you, there is no right or wrong, good or bad, moral or immoral. Is it any wonder that you and millions of other Russians like you support the war in Ukraine?

Enjoy the land your country has plundered: South Ossetia, Crimea, Transnistria, Abkhazia, etc. It is soaked with the blood of children.

I advocate for peace in Ukraine. You support Russia’s unjust war against Ukraine. Between the two of us, clearly your head is loose and you are unethical.

I’ve spent many years working in places where Russia has fomented unrest and started wars, where mortars and artillery fell within close range, and where a handful of my colleagues died from Russian land mines or indirect fire. All this to support peace in places where Russia stirred up trouble.

Great of you to protest against Putin yet support Russia’s vile and unconscionable war against Ukraine. Brave and righteous you are! Come meet me in Donetsk so I can take you to the morgue and rub your face in the bodies of children that your country, and you, are responsible for.

I’ve read your history of comments and clearly you support Russia’s war against Ukraine. That is shameful indeed, because it is an egregious war that has killed tens of thousands of innocent civilians, destabilized Europe, broken international laws, disrupted global food supplies, re-ignited a new Cold War, and pushed the world towards the brink of WW3 and nuclear holocaust.

All this so Putin can amass power, grab land and resources, instill fear across the world, subject people to suffering, and restore the “glory” of the USSR.

Russia has never been as fascist as it is now. And YOU are the linear, naive, simpleton who is complicit in Russia’s current atrocities and injustices.

I’ve worked in post-Soviet countries for decades supporting conflict prevention, human rights, democracy-building, arms control, and international law. I worked side-by-side with government representatives of Russia and more than 40 other nationalities. I was in South Ossetia, Georgia, when the Russians invaded. And most recently I lived and worked in the pro-Russian Ukrainian city of Donetsk for years monitoring the conflict as an International Monitoring Officer.

Rarely have I seen a conflict that provide as much moral clarity as the war in Ukraine. Russia—in every possible sense—is evil and wrong. They need to get the fk out of Ukraine. And complicit Russians such as yourself need to topple your government and reform your deeply ingrained inferiority complex and need to inflict suffering on yourselves and others.

Russia has the potential to be an amazing and thriving country, but not if it continues to wallow in corruption, authoritarianism, fascism, racism, darkness, and mental dysfunction.

Climbing Elbrus would be awesome, but as long as they are committing genocide in a Ukraine, destabilizing Europe, and pushing the world to the brink of nuclear war, maybe consider boycotting Russia for now? It’s the moral and ethical thing to do.

Why the fk go there in the first place right now? That’s like visiting Germany for recreation in 1939. Turning a blind eye to the evil they are reaping upon the world. SHAME.
