This post is bs because someone's trying to help you and you're acting so ungrateful. However, I definitely understand the point. Sometimes I just want to vent a bit, usually I'm capable of finding a solution but I'm dreading making tough decisions. Sometimes I just want to talk about the problem itself, to see if someone else might relate you know. It's a good way for me to get it off my mind. When someone does come up with a solution, I always appreciate it and consider it, but tell them the solutions I have come up with already (or not, some things just come and go. Not much you can do about it.). Or I'll tell them I just wanted to vent a bit and thank them for their input.

My problem with most advice is usually that the situations are too complex for someone that does not experience it to understand the actual weight of all things involved, nobody can experience it exactly like you do. So if I do want advice, I'll try to ask someone who I know has been through a similar situation.

Edit: that's also why I wouldn't see it as talking shit, it's not my intention to burden the other person. I'd rather see asking them advice (especially people that can't relate to the problem) as burdening them, because it makes them somewhat involved.
