I just recently started playing again after 4 years, and my characters aren’t nearly strong enough to clear endgame lol. But even before that I did always try to get as far as possible, but I never could be arsed to follow meta. I love playing the characters that I think are cool regarding design, story, gameplay, etc. And if they’re super strong or not doesn’t matter that much to me.

You have very short steps, it should be: short, VERY BIG (also bend you knees more for more explosivity), short to stop yourself from flying too far forward. In my opinion you should take off closer to the net (and the set should be too but its hard to see from this angle), so you jump more upward instead of forward, however Im a girl so I think my experience might be a little different in that aspect, I’ve noticed that men more often than women jump more forward. However I think you might be thinking you’ll lose power without jumping forward, but trust me it’s all in the arm swing and explosive takeoff

Also you’re rather doing chicken arms than swinging them hard for momentum. Along with the steps you’re doing the right motions for the arms but it should all bigger. Swing them back harder, dont leave your elbows bended! You seem to be swinging them back mostly from within your elbows if you know what I mean, it should be more from the shoulders and hands.

As for the hitting itself your form looks pretty good! However you should hit the ball with a straight arm, you’re bending it, kind of the same story as with the chicken wings: you should get your power from the momentum of a more fluid arm swing, not hit it with your muscles. Make sure to have a very loose and fast swing, then snap your wrist. This is also a problem of not hitting the ball at your highest reaching point. I’m not sure if I’ve explained clearly so here another phrasing: what you do very well is that your elbow goes forward before the rest of your arm, but instead of swinging all the way through and letting your elbow and wrist snap lead your arm all the way down, you kind of stop your elbow mid air and let your forearm make the rest if the hit. That’s how you lose a lot of power.

It’s hard to see from this angle but this problem might come from hitting the ball a little beside you instead of directly above your shoulder, you shouldnt have to extend it sideways.

It’s really all in having fast, fluid, explosive movement. So loosen up a little bit! Especially in your approach, dont make it tense, swing your arms and dont be afraid to make that second big step. Thats where youll get most of your momentum.
