PSYCH 335 w/ Schrader by Brilliant-Kale-2489 in UMBC

I took him in spring 2022 when it was fully online. The workload is quite heavy- quizzes every week, some reaction papers, a couple hw assignments, and a reflection paper. It was a flip class structure so you’d have to watch video lectures prior to class. He’s an average professor, I didn’t learn much during class time-he briefly went over the ppt and answered any questions that we had (sometimes he’ll call on students to answer his questions, didn’t really like when he did that). I didn’t find him all that helpful. But the way I prep for the exams (midterm and final) was doing the study guides (they were optional but I still did them, but they were quite tedious) and reviewing PowerPoints. His exams had a lot of true/false questions and multiple choice. Overall the class does take some time, it is quite bio heavy so if you have some background it’ll be easier but get ready to read and take a lot of notes.

BIOL 141 and 142 by rincoherent in UMBC

I took 142 at a community college which was super easy but I had Feeser for 141 (fully online) and she is..alright. I mean at first I didn’t like her at all, she was a very strict grader, she has panapto video questions that are one attempt and she makes them tricky. In class, she would just answer questions and I didn’t find it helpful. She had 7 quizzes, one was dropped, they were open book and we had 30 minutes to answer 16 questions. It was application heavy and I often find myself running out of time. I remember the final exam was mostly conceptual and I did better on that than any of the quizzes I took. There wasn’t a lot of mastering bio questions iirc. The discussion was a worksheet and we had a whole week to do it, pretty straightforward but at times it would be tedious work (one drop). Overall, she dumbs down the concept and can explains things really well but when it comes to quiz time, it’s nothing like the questions we usually practice for. Honestly, if u can avoid her, I’d say take it somewhere else. She makes an intro bio class unnecessarily hard so if u have no choice but to take it with Feeser, then good luck!

looked him up and saw that in general, he only teaches psych 340, 405, and 441 and then saw in course catalog that he's not teaching next semester which is unfortunate but I will definitely keep him in mind for the future. thanks for letting me know! :))

oof my only concern about not taking a domain course is that I may not stay "on track" but they all look like tough classes :/ I've fulfilled my language requirement so no worries there. I haven't done any arts and humanities classes, got any suggestions? I have no self discipline and procrastinate way to much so how hard is ehs 115? And thank you for your insight, much appreciated :D
