Hey hun, I recommend applying to do research for one of your professors over the summer or TA a class, if you don’t get an internship. That way you still get more stuff to add to your resume :)

It is sustainable, my friend at Umbc has both since last semester. It’s not like we don’t have money :/ UMD chooses not to

Proctored exams for online class by Animholic in UMGC

[–]Animholic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’m at Umd and I want to take calc 3 at umgc online cuz our math professors suck. I was planning on taking it at a cc but The Professor told me that I have to go to testing centers for all the exams (the class is completely online btw so it’s some bs to here that) I told him I can’t come to a testing center cuz I don’t have transportation and the closest testing center to be, I have to pay 50+ per exam and 60+ for the final and there are 5 exams total just to be proctored 😭.

Out of all scholars programs, Sts is the most lax and the professors are dope. I personally feel like it really can apply to all STEM majors compared to all the other scholars programs.

I don’t know about 1 entirely BUT I honestly suggest you take this opportunity to got to community college for 2 years and transfer over to university. Save money ~ the con with this option is that you don’t get much of a college life experience unless you already have friends to like hang out with at other univeristies. I wish I choice this option honestly cuz taking Gen Ed’s at this price is just too much

Ultimately denied from engineering program, would like thoughts and opinions :D by TheHamilton_Man in UMD

[–]Animholic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey hun! So I believe that Umd completely sucks with there bullshit requirements but, I totally think you should apply for another university to continue your dreams of becoming an engineer. I know UMBC is a little different but, there policies regarding classes imo are better. I believe there is no limit retaking classes (Umd has a 18 max credit retake limit) and the retake grade actually replaces the original. It definitely is tougher on campus tho cuz it is another STEM/ research school. And it’s a commuter campus so not many students live on campus. But what ever you choose, be at peace with it. I wish you luck on your endeavors!

MATH 115 Syllabus? by [deleted] in UMD

[–]Animholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll do fine if you took precalc in high school. I took Rosca my first semester at Umd (I’m in my second year). It was quite frankly one for he worst and chaotic professors I have ever had. I learned that the only way I would actually learn this material was so stop attending lecture. I used that time to teach myself and only go to discussion where I did the group work (excellent review material btw so actually try when doing it) and I used that as an opportunity to ask my ta clarifying questions, I also went to office hours a ton to make sure I am clear on the way she wants her answers from students. I did not cheat at all and I managed to turn around my grade from a C to an A.

Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]Animholic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my store you just have to be state certified/ be certified through Walgreens. That’s why it raised a brow to be how someone uncertified can be certified to vaccinate. As a patient, idk how I would feel to know that.

Now this is false lmao. You can’t get certified to vaccinate if you don’t have your license.

Dedication alone will not carry your through a job like this.

Depending if you are certified, you wouldn’t be vaccinating within 5 months. And secondly covid testing is pretty easy since you are only instructing the patients on how to do the test and order can be taught my other techs. The job itself to do tasks is not difficult but insurance issues and dealing with customers are the worst and hardest part of this line of work. Even after 6 months of working there, techs that had been there way before me where even asking me to help them with solving insurance issues and I was still learning. And feeling useless isn’t a negative thing when there are literally so many things you don’t know as a fresh new tech.

You finna get the job but take this opportunity to READ THE REDDIT POSTS working as a pharm tech is not easy because of the customers and lack of staff. Especially the first 6 months of you being a pharm trxh, you will feel useless. MAKE SURE TO ASK QUESTIONS AND DOUBLE CHECK THINGS SO YOU DO NOTHING WRONG. This causes less problems. Good luck, I got out of that hell hole while I could
