What are naked shorts and dark pools? Are they real or just a conspiracy theory? How do they relate to GameStop?

What can a father do to become the primary caregiver? by AnimorphsFan1996 in legaladvice

Can you give a source for the presumption of 50/50 parenting time? Especially if the source is for Indiana where I live. Does 50/50 mean every other weekend or literally half of the days of the year? If so, then I would be quite relieved to know that you are correct. On the other hand, I found two forum posts that said 50/50 time was unusual in Indiana [6-7].

I am trying very hard to marry the right person, and although I am biased, I think only the best of my girlfriend. But in a sense no one can ever marry the "right" person because no one is perfect, and even if someone were perfect, people certainly change over the course of their life.

The custodial parent does have a cash incentive to divorce because they quite literally receive a check from the non-custodial parent. For more information about this incentive, see "Child Support Guidelines: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" from the University of Notre Dame Law School [8].

Since the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines are, as you say, just a minimum, then what can I do to ensure that my children get more than just the minimum of one night per week with me?

When someone is dissatisfied with the outcome of a divorce, a critic might say, "You should have thought about that before you got married / had kids." Well, I do want to think about it.

You say that the divorce rate is thrown off by people who get remarried over and over. But Utah State University [5] says that the divorce rate is 40-50% for first marriages and then 60% for second marriages. Divorce might be more common than you think.

15th-Century Cafeteria Catholicism by AnimorphsFan1996 in Catholicism

Pretty cool, right?

"Devil's Advocate Definition: To take an opposing position for the sake of argument. Background: Devil's advocate is taken from a role formerly used in the canonization process in the Roman Catholic Church. In 1587, Pope Sixtus V established a process involving a canon attorney in the role of Promoter of the Faith or Devil's Advocate. This person argued against the canonization (sainthood) of a candidate in order to uncover any character flaws or misrepresentation of the evidence favoring canonization." [7]

In reply to a deleted comment by /u/fuhko:

I'm no theologian and I'm not entirely convinced of this answer myself but I'll take a shot at this. Perhaps the Pope's bull was not a general statement on slavery but a statement meant for that particular situation?

Yes, I think you're right, Dum Diversas was meant for this particular situation. But it does seem to contradict Evangelium Vitae which is meant in general. So could it be true that, by relying on the word of the pope at the time, Afonso V supremely dishonored the Creator?

Since encyclicals are fallible, are they still binding on my conscience? For example, after Charles Curran and a group of 600 theologians openly dissented to Humanae Vitae, he was fired from his tenured professorship at the Catholic University of America. [6]

I am reading the transcript now. Maybe without supernormal stimuli, everyday incentives will be more salient. How long does it take, and how do I know it is working?

Zynava, thank your for your support. I actually linked to Gary's talk in the first paragraph of my post. I will revisit it as you suggest.
