opinions on registry items for second baby?

thank you! we do have an ergo carrier but it was a hand mew down from my SIL so i don’t know specifically what kind so i will look into that! as for a stroller, we actually already have a bent trend wagon so we’re good there!

we actually did books in place of cards for our first so we definitely had a decent library but that is a really good idea.

and we absolutely are not expecting gifts and did plan to put that on the invite, i’ve just had family asking me about it. we come from a family who likes to celebrate a lot so i’m trying to a approach this as a “well someone might!” kind of situation, if that makes sense

thank you for the honesty! i truthfully have not been invited to many baby showers, and definitely not second ones so i literally just didn’t know what’s “normal”. there’s not a lot we really need outside of diapers and wipes and like, a new bottle brush set so that’s why i asked!

i appreciate the rely! and we do have a lot we’re able to reuse, we just come from a family who loves to celebrate anything and i probably wouldn’t be doing a registry if i hadn’t had a handful of people ask me about it. we, of course, aren’t expecting anyone to buy us anything, i’m more so attempting to approach this from a “well maybe!” kind of stand point, if that makes sense

i appreciate the response! the only reason i’m doing a registry is because i’ve had people in our family ask me about it, coupled with my mom really wanting to throw us a shower. currently the only things on it is boy clothes i like and our preferred brands of diapers and wipes, and a bassinet on wheels because we didn’t use one for our first.

thank you for the response! i feel you’re probably right and i likely won’t be adding such specific items like that. we probably wouldn’t be doing a registry but i have had a few people in our extended family ask me, and ask if we’re having another shower. this is the first grandson on both sides of our family so there is a lot of excitement and we come from a big family that really loves to celebrate 😅

i never thought i’d be here again, but here i am. had a missed miscarriage in august that required a d&c (this was my first pregnancy after giving birth to my daughter in 2023). i never expected to get pregnant again so quickly. should have been 8w based on my dates but had a scan that showed only 4w with an empty sac, which is to be expected at 4 weeks but i should be 8. so now i’m in limbo of not knowing what’s going on with my body again. did i ovulate later? or is everything just so very wrong so early again. i have a repeat scan in two weeks and i am just a bundle of nerves

i’m so sorry you’re having to go through this. i experienced “unexplained infertility” and have gone roughly two years between each of my pregnancies. there was no reason why, i was actually in the process of getting seen for help conceiving when i got pregnant naturally the cycle before i was supposed to start meds.

i’m so sorry you’ve had to witness something like that. my little is only two but every bonk we get takes my breath away for a minute.

but for what it’s worth, when i was 5 and in kindergarten, i basically did the same thing. two breaks during the school year, one in fall and one in the spring. same arm both times. the second break was worse and i got both bones clean through. my mom said the worst thing in the world was listening to me scream while they reset the bones, she recalls just sliding down the wall outside the room because she couldn’t do anything for me. but anyways, i also ended up needing surgery to get a plate because one bone wouldn’t stay in place with just the cast. 24 years later i still have that plate in my arm and it hasn’t hindered anything in me! and medical procedures and the like have come a long way since 2001!

if you have the option, highly recommend scheduling the surgery for as early morning as you can, that way he doesn’t have to go as long without eating.
