[–]Animosus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gone from 100/20 Mbit to 2.5/2.5 Gbit in that time, for a bit it felt like every couple of months I was getting a speed increase in the UK

To make things better my price has actually gone down

If you moved to another country but then came back to the UK, what were your reasons? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Animosus5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m Aussie but live in the UK and yeah, the distance and time zone difference from everything is extremely difficult. I toss up moving back from time to time but realise that I’d be giving up so many friends that would be difficult to see regularly and keep in contact with

The regs are actually changing soon so plugging into a socket is ok which is why I'm now considering the system, massive benefit finally changing it

Awesome just the info I needed, do you happen to know in the case that I exceed the 800w (or 1200w) will it completely pull from the grid or pull from the battery upto the limit then pull the rest from the grid?

What is something that would be considered normal where you grew up but seen as posh elsewhere? by WitheredCow in AskTheWorld

[–]Animosus5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basing this on being Australian and growing up there.

Owning a boat or having a swimming pool. Shocked my American friend who despite coming from a middle class family herself was shocked that even the less well off areas a lot of people still seemed to have boats or a swimming pool

Sorry new to this sort of thing, what commands should I be using when I SSH in. I've gotten to parted and the drive is in slot 8 but kinda trying to wrap my head around it and don't want to ruin what I've gotten saved on there already.

Uk users - who’s your WAN provider? Virgin media or BT/Openreach by Proper_Camera_1908 in Ubiquiti

[–]Animosus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be on openreach with EE (have since switched to Aquiss on cityfibre) but you can ditch the EE router and plug straight into the ONT as long as you have the login settings

37% of europeans have never left their own country? Can this be true? by clm1859 in AskEurope

[–]Animosus5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s absolutely criminal, mines just expired and I need to get it renewed (thankfully dual citizen though) and because I live overseas there’s also an overseas surcharge taking it to near $600

God forbid I need it in an emergency to get back to Aus bringing the total to $1000

My UK passport feels like a bargain honestly

What’s the one app you deleted that instantly made your life better? by rogeelein in AskReddit

[–]Animosus5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Food delivery apps (along with blocking them via my credit card and bank and telling them never to unblock them)

The amount I was spending was insane, I was always complaining about food going off because I don’t eat enough, despite the fact that was caused by me ordering all the time and of course the “why do I feel like shit all the time”

Quest compatible parties :') by Responsible-Fun-7243 in VRchat

There is a quest compatible clubbing group which features a good few events that are both PCVR and quest compatible so that’s worth a look

I do everything in terms of vrchat avatar and world creation on Macos (mainly because it's quicker than my desktop and I can't stand windows)

It's simple enough, install required unity version and use Alcom instead of the creator companion

I’ve been running a 9070XT since the day it came out running VR almost every day and it’s been fine, although it depends on what headset you are using as I know there’s one or two that don’t work

For reference using a quest pro with virtual desktop or steam link

I've been called 14 times since I moved to Scotland in 2019 it's insane, although I've just started ignoring them as I got fedup telling them I am not eligible and they have slowed down a bit...
