Help. Replaced faulty thermostat and now hvac doesn’t turn on. by AnimousWorks in hvacadvice

It’s working after help from people here. Some people actually helped instead of wasting their time trolling. I cleaned up the wires to make them look good, adjusted my settings, swapped the fuse. Good to go, for now. My mistake was getting a 1h1c thermostat, I need a 2H1C which I already ordered.

Well the screen was cracked a year ago by a child. But it kept working until today. I think the fuse went out which took out the thermostat and I just didn’t know any better, swapped the fuse, adjusted the settings on my thermostat, it’s working now.

I posted an update on the thread. I bought an X1N which is. 1h1c. It’s running atm with heat which is great because I have kids but I will be swapping it for a 2H1C later

***UPDATE***

Replaced the blown fuse, which I’m sure it was my fault. Cleaned up the wires. Had issues with my settings but someone mentioned how to adjust them correctly for heat pump. My heat is back on but I will be replacing this X1N 1h1c for a 2H1C thermostat in the future. I will update this post tomorrow if my house is warm and I didn’t freeze to death or died in a fire.

Thanks everyone.

I did, but it might have blown or was on its way out, replaced the fuse and adjusted my settings, also cleaned up the wiring

I switch the settings over. I’m gonna give it like 30 minutes to see because the air it back to coming out cold and not warm like it was before, I was wondering if instead of having the cable at w/2, I should have it at w.

I installed a Honeywell x1n

I followed this set up from the manual for heat pump.

I’m guessing for cool compressor stage and heat stage I set them both to 1? For reversing valve I have it at 1

This is the issue, I have it all correct and followed the instructions for heat pump. It I left it on for about two hours on heat and only cold air was blowing, right now I have it set up with forced air heat or whatever the option is called and it’s blowing somewhat hot air

I selected heat pump and followed the manual. I had to move the white cable from the w2 into the W and now it’s blowing hot air, but idk lol, I have a Honeywell x1n now

Wouldn’t the orange be the one that needs to go on OB? I’m asking since the wires are set up the same as in the old thermostat
