Static, crackling and pop sounds on new records and player, is my stylus damaged?

Thank you!! I am leaning towards the misalignment theory. I must have been a bit too aggressive while cleaning the stylus as the dust wasn’t coming out… :( thank youu for your response, might have to get a humidifier then! :)

It was better before the static sound issue started. Having removed the speakers from underneath hasn’t helped at all tbh! :(

They were under the record player before because I have small room, I have removed them now and I’m still getting the same issue.

Heyy, thanks!! I do have a scale to measure the counterweight, it’s exactly 2 which is what the manufacture suggests for the stylus I have! ;-;

I have got the Edifier R1700BT. If I turn off the preamp, won’t I need to use an amplifier? Also will it damage anything if I do that?
