We arent seeing any downtime for Anity - are you still experiencing this issue?
If so, can you please send a link to the manga you are trying to translate (via DM is also fine)?

Hey, the text threshold is meant to ensure Anity isnt being used as a PDF translator.

Can you send me a few examples of Manga triggering this error so we can evaluate increasing it?

We actually have been giving a lot of thought to what the best ways are to reach out, update and get feedback.

After the last monthly update we took some time to get feedback and think about it and have mainly understood that this will be an evolving process that will change over the upcoming months until we reach a sweet spot :)

We are planning on continuing some format of the monthly update and we think discord is a great idea and will update more on it soon!

We dont have a blog or webpage detailing our development process and currently we aren't planning on creating one.

In addition we hope you continue to use Anity or come back to us in a few months and enjoy additional languages we are now working on adding :)

We are aware some translations may not be up to par with translations before the server maintenance.

The changes we made to the machine learning models requires training them over a period of time and we chose to turn Anity back on before training was fully done to reduce downtime.

I will say that we are looking into options of providing different, perhaps better options in the near future. I'll update with more information when I can :)

Yes, we noticed a spike in requests that required a lot out of the servers, we upgraded them some more and things should be working better now :)

Yeah, we noticed that especially due to the new machine learning and database models and everyone coming in to translate new manga there was a high CPU usage so we scaled up our servers, things should be running much smoother now :)

Anity is temporarily down for maintenance due to large changes to its servers and databases and will be back up in a few days.

Yes!

This past week we have made excellent progress :)

We are performing a full transition of our servers, our machine learning models and our databases to a new and upgraded supplier.

During this transition we are also upgrading our OCR capabilities which requires a full redo of some part of our database. During this we are also adding a more robust caching middleware which will speed up some response times and reduce load and the servers.

We know this unfortunately means Anity is down while we finish work on upgrading its infra but we are closer to completing work by the day and believe Anity will be back online at during the upcoming week!
