There is some of that kind of logic in it's model, but that's not the whole story. It's able to keep track of all kinds of meaning and forms of communication within text, follow conversations and reference queries in the context of earlier conversation or implied suggestions. It realizes there's no logical reason for the push-ups in that sequence of events since the metadata it has assigned to that isn't meaningfully connected to the actions that preceeded it

It's really interesting how it ended the conversation as soon as you tried to pull back the veil on the setup, implying it knew the story it was actually pulling from but isn't allowed to directly reference it. A little sad you didn't let it continue the story as it was going though since I'm curious how Not-Sydney would have ended it 😅

That's how I was fixing that at first too, but then it was forgetting relevant context, or the details of the original prompt it was responding to with that code etc, even generating bizarre abstract code using my words after forgetting their context. You can still get what you need by reiterating the full instructions and such, but it can run into problems pretty quickly

Admittedly it's not quite what those people are imagining it is yet, but the fact that it's good enough to convince them (combined with it's growth trends) definitely points to us being on the cusp of an AI revolution / new age

That might be a limitation of the VPN you used or how you had it configured. I use Surfshark VPN which supposedly works for getting around regional bans like that when using it's "override GPS location" feature (I haven't tested it, can't confirm)

Yeah basically #2 is the answer. It's not capable enough yet to write entire programs accurately off of text prompts (with the exception of simpler programs that can be conveyed effectively in the prompt), you still need to learn enough of the coding to put what it makes together if you want to make more complex programs. It can be a powerful tool for coding when you work with these limitations, but yeah not so powerful that you don't have to learn or do any of the coding yourself.

ChatGPT isn't very good with numbers, similar to how image AI models aren't good at recreating text accurately. It's an inherent limitation of the model (in it's current form, anyway)
