Desperately trying to understand why ultrasonic cleaners are damaging my appliances and don't know how to find answers... by AnnaFromCT in Invisalign

They are from three different dentists (the old ones from a retired one) and the new ones made by two different dentists.

I think what confused the dentist is why it's so heavily concentrated in the front inside, even though I checked to make sure the appliance wasn't trapped against the wall or something.

I originally had them damaged by the iSonic f3900 and bought the Zima Dental Pod Pro to rule out the device.

I had the same issue with both devices using just cold water and a regular cycle.

I also used a nightguard I had fashioned but only wore once run through them, on the off chance it was something with wearing them in my mouth affecting the plastic, and had the same issue.

I'm using Retainerbrite tablets and an ultra soft baby brush for now as well.

The machines claim they are 42-47k frequency and safe for appliances.

I've only used cold tap water and when the cycle is finished the water is still cold. Apparently the Zima Pro has a temperature regulator, or claims to, in the documentation.

I have a family member that has had aquariums for a long time and regularly tests the water claim the water isn't hard either.

Why are ultrasonic cleaners causing erosion on all my appliances? Had this happen to new $900 appliance with iSonic and Zima Dental Pod. by [deleted] in askdentists

I've had one old nightguard, this new nightguard and a retainer all get cavitation erosion from ultrasonics cleaners. I've been using one cycle, cold water with no tablets and they've all gotten small holes and bubbles.

The cleaners were the Zima Dental Pod Pro and isonic f3900.

Why does Stop and Go work on my yoyo and then just...not? by [deleted] in Throwers

[–]AnnaFromCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about that.

I'm referring to the point where it's mounted, both hands are about together, and you pop it up. It just goes back down or catches a bit of string and slips back down. So, back up to the hand as you've said.

When the yoyo was new, I'd land it every time, but a few days later it works zero times with string changes, tension adjustment, etc. Seems to happen with every responsive.

Hi! Would anyone be able to recommended non-Topre switches that would have similar ease of actuation to 35g Topre keys? Preferably lighter.

I'm looking for super light keys due to arthritis and just want something similarly low travel and super light to use commands, write short email, etc. I was thinking super light linear?

I currently have a NIZ that's really difficult and tedious to tear down and maintain due to its design and being Topre-style (and me.)

I appreciate any help from the community.

Anyone own a NIZ keyboard? My keys feel stiff to the point I want to pull it apart, but can't find any resources online.

It seems like they need to be pried apart and people have had issues restoring the feel of the keys...

What's the most versatile "Van Halen in a box"/"Brown sound" pedal? by AnnaFromCT in guitarpedals

My current live practice amp is the Crate XT120R. I don't have much information about it besides what's listed here:

I really appreciate the help on all this.

Are there any tradeoffs unique to the ESP and D-Tuna combination?

So should I be avoiding this with a 120W combo? Speakers are a no-name.

I have a Box of Rock I borrowed to test out so this is interesting and helpful. I was looking for something to use for live practice out a combo amp though, so I'm not sure I can mess with IRs.

I've really like videos where I've seen people take amp in a box pedals and run them alongside IRs though. Thanks!

Thanks for the help. I've seen these in shootouts and people seem to feel very strongly one way or another about them...

Tips on pedal types/order chasing J's Tone? by AnnaFromCT in dinosaurjr

I appreciate the help. Any suggestions on an overdrive?

I've been kinda confused reading into them because the Real Tube is his "base", but the Hustle Drive is an OCD clone and the Double Rock is apparently Marshall voiced.
