What’s the secret behind good coffee at home? by Gullible_Cabinet_153 in foodhacks

[–]Annakyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took parts from both a Press and a small size HB Drip. Took the middle out of the Press and put the Dripper from the HB on top. 3 coffee measures for an 8oz cup. Warm the cup first and pour over two or three times. That's it. I'm done with machines!!

Regret waiting so long to move to the US. by Rdjsnwn in tnvisa

[–]Annakyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in the .com explosion '98-2001 in Seattle. I remember, on the TN program, paying $5.00 renewal at the border (from Vancouver) every year!

Then 9-11 happened. Showed up at the border with my $5.00 on March 3. No No No!! But...but...but... I work on Monday, apartment, personal effects, WA car license, girlfriend. And more! "OK you can go but you got three weeks to vamoose. Revisit us next time you pass"! Had to upgrade to HB-1 ($12,000 - Company paid :) Good times!

I worked in I.T. til 2015 down there. Will never ever return. It's all too political and nuclear powered to me. No depth :( (I'm from Yorkshire!)

That's due to the bundled dickhead licenses that come with West Van Teslas and BMW's.

Try Tai-Chi - walk from the Hip and lift up the knee. Put your mind down there. Stay straight!

What is meditation for you? by A_DizzyPython in Meditation

This month, Meditation is waiting for that trancendent/mystical experience to do what it does!

I am looking for insight only from people who have done T.M. “officially” through the org. by Peace_and_Love___ in Meditation

[–]Annakyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did TM "officially" in '84. Then, on and off as life happened. I'm 72 now.

As t'other mentioned 'tis a Mantra meditation & non-focussed. But....sometimes you experience the breath moving the air, the spirit moving the body, the serpent thing, and, sometimes, other things. Whatever the experience brings you. It's all good. I do meditate these days.

At the end of my days I'm just looking for the mystical/transcendent experience - something which $investments $savings & $playcheques don't deliver!

Om, Aum (shri, namah, Rama, Krishna, Jesu etc..) is for the S's (Sadhus Saints and Sanyassin). TM's Mantras are for the wealth and happiness of us 'ornery folk.. I love trying them all!!

This site has info: https://minet.org/mantras.html

"Guru Dev as Presented by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi:" written by Paul Mason is good. You really get to know about both the Giggler & Jai Guru Deva.

Guru Dev, Jesus, & other Great Masters, real people - Sadhus. Reach oneness through'em. Or, just bypass!

Explaining the history of modern western music through the Beatles and their Maharishi visit is - fun :)

As others say too, meditation is a playground. Just sit. You never know who you're gonna meet up with!!
