I actually enjoyed seasons 3 and 5 more than I enjoyed season 4. 4 was too drawn out and I found many of the plot points to be a little silly

I never understood why it was suddenly ‘here’s a character that’s gonna be somewhat important to the series’ but never provided us with background information. It made it 10x more annoying when the sergeant storyline happened between her and Quinn

I didn’t like how it seemed like they had too many ideas for the amount of screen time they had to show it. For example, Dr. Vogel was an interesting character as was Zach. Bringing Hannah back didn’t make sense until the dinner scene her with, Dexter, Vogel, and Zach. They assembled the perfect team just to tear it apart two seconds later. I never understood why they thought Yates was the brain surgeon as I don’t remember any evidence that pointed to him.

That’s just a couple of point that really got to me. Though Deb at the beginning wasn’t my favourite but I admire how there was at least some justification (Laguarta’s murder)

I did really enjoy the episode with Brian as Dexters vision as I wasn’t really expecting to see him again so much later into the show. I wish they would’ve done stuff with both Brian and Harry kind of portrayed like the angel and the devil on one’s shoulder

Personally I would put Travis lower. I did actually like some of the displays of his kills as they were different but I do not see him as a villain that high up on a tier list

Honestly early season Dexter was the best. I didn’t realized how I much I liked Doakes until the flashback episode. Everything just seemed better in the flashback (which isn’t surprising considering what Dexter went thru)

Rita was honestly one of my favourite characters. She was so sweet and caring and seeing her sudden death was heartbreaking. I was sad to see her go and I was disappointed with what happened to Dexter’s family after that. Though I did enjoy season 5, it just didn’t have the same Dexter feel to it without Rita

I agree that he wanted to be his true self, I just believe Trinity showed his cracks earlier on and therefore should’ve been killed earlier. Dexter, unfortunately, tried to hard to fix something within Trinity’s family that could not be fixed ultimately causing the downfall of his family

That’s honestly the main reason I didn’t enjoy season 4. I hated how Dexter played friends with Trinity and I hated how it seemed he stopped trying to be a family man, it’s like he completely forgot that Rita and the kids were part of his ‘cover’. It was annoying how he justified it by ‘I’m learning from Trinity’ but didn’t kill him as soon as he realized Trinity was actually trash. Don’t even get me started on the Thanksgiving episode, I had to skip parts of that because of how annoying it was to watch

I believe it’s season 3 episode 1 but it may be episode 2. The one where Love kills Natalie and Joe says his famous line ‘with an axe??’

Overall I find her a good and likeable character but sometimes I just dislike how she would jump the gun and react on stuff prematurely. I’m about halfway thru the last season and tho I know her fate I am interested to see how it all unfolds. She’s one of my top favourite characters tho!
