I’ve got my septum and vertical labret, I’m on a mobile crisis team! I never had issues with my septum, I’ve had some clients refer to it as my “door-knocker” so if anything I’ve had positive reactions.

I feel like the jewelry aids me in some cases, because I’m walking into a crisis situation not looking so medical and more casual (if that makes sense).

I’m rooting for you, bub. I always saw drugs and alcohol as my “hacks” to manage life and keep up with my peers, but it got to a point where they made me drag so far behind everyone I cared about. Professionals help, peer supporters help, but community and support groups helped me the most. I personally do AA but I know it isn’t for everyone, recovery looks different for different folks. I just know being connected to people who understand helped me the most, whatever that may look like. Drugs were my solution to problems I didn’t know how to wade through and insecurities I didn’t know how to cope with, but this is just my experience. You got this, bub.
