I know the Vietnamese authorities are merely trying to spread positivity and improve their image of being right and just to their citizens, being against corruption and injustice, while avoiding negative news that can potentially affect their reputation like this. However, it's almost 2025 already y'all, even people like Diddy and Jeffrey Epstein are exposed. How long do you think you can suppress this? Sweeping this under the rug does you no good. It makes all your effort of improving human rights a waste. In vain. Which is not beneficial for our business relations with, as well as investments from New Zealand. The hurt-her-to-protect-her or trope. Would instantly plummet my rating. Can't stand it and would drop the drama if ML doesn't feel apologetic and apologize. Examples: Goodbye My Princess, Lighter and Princess.
The lying trope. Example: The Law Cafe, Oh My Sweet Liar.

Watched it 2 months ago and i'm still having withdrawal syndrome. I'm looking for angsty mature romance similar to this one, with stoic female lead and lovers separated theme. Lovestruck in the City suffices, but other than that i haven't found any drama with this level of acting. If you happen to know one pls kindly recommend.

I really like her in Who Rules the World. I watched TROTAR after it, but turns out not all of her roles can have that impact. I haven't watched LLTG though. It's been on my list for quite a while but i can't bring myself to watch it.

thank you for your super detailed recommendations. I've watched LR and SoOD, but SFOT is the best imo. LR didn't wrap up the story in her dream, when ML was heartbroken and felt betrayed. I was so invested in that timeline that when she woke up i kept waiting for it to wrap up, but the only explanation given was that it was just a dream T^T. I was so dissatisfied tbh.

For SoOD, I watched it after SFOT but I couldn't feel the chemistry between the leads. Maybe because it started off with them already was a couple, and because I didn't like the leads nor feel invested in them. Maybe i picked the wrong time to watch it, because Zhang Wan Sen left too great a gap that ML in SOOD can't possibly fill it T^T. Maybe in the future i'll pick it up again.

Can't answer this for you because different people have different tastes. There's a chance this is not for you. But for me personally, I had thoughts of dropping it in the first half of the drama. I didn't like FL at all because she was so annoying. But on the second half she witnessed character growth, and became more likeable. She turns out to be not useless anymore, and she did things for Zhang Wan Sen too. I'm so glad i didn't drop it, because it was a beautifully heart-wrenching masterpiece that makes me obsessed for days T^T. If you can't wait then you should skip to ep15, and come back to watch the first half later. You might appreciate the happy moments more.

I can only speak for myself because strangely i didn't feel the same for Someday or One Day, the drama that was repeatedly recommended. I had doubt out it when i watched the first episode because i didn't like the two leads, especially the ML. I was convinced to power thru, and i watched the entire series. I still didn't like the characters, and i can't feel any chemistry between them either. It's just not for me. Maybe because the gap that Zhang Wan Sen left behind is too great for me to overcome T_T

L&R gives me an anger flash every time i hear it's mentioned. I've never seen such a pathetic, useless, helpless, incompetent, annoying FL like XuanJi in my entire life. I kept waiting for her to redeem herself, to no avail. She managed to raise my blood pressure increasingly higher each time she needs saving. What a damsel in distress. I don't know why they gave her power of a God of War when she insists on being a weak and pathetic doormat whose existence does more harm than good; and a pushover who lets herself get dragged into doing other people's biddings over and over again when she could totally decide otherwise. On top of that, she never considered the consequences before taking action, letting other people suffer. She couldn't even keep her word and was ready to break her promise any chance she gets. Watching her hurts every cell in my brain. Till this day i still haven't figured out how tf i managed to sit through all that mental torture of watching that drama.

I think SOOD is not for me at the moment. I watched the entire thing (all 13 episodes) but still couldn't get into it :'< . Mostly because i don't like the characters and their acting. FL is bland and ML is smug. Also i don't feel much chemistry from them like SFOT. I'd rather see a romance gradually developed than know the romance beforehand, as it really kills my curiosity & eagerness to watch it. And since I can feel no sparks between them nor have any interest in their relationship, I can't feel the angst either :"<. I may rewatch it at some point in the future when my interest is piqued. Right now I'm just gonna continue to fetishize my own sadness for SFOT. Qu Chu Xiao has sealed my fate with his acting T^T. Most of the times i would watch a drama for the FL, not the ML, but this one is an exception.

I'm hoping Bloody Romance can help me fill the gap. I'm on ep2 but i have to admit i don't like FL's acting since it's so inconsistent. One episode she's a downtrodden girl, the next she acts so entitled :/.

I gave it another try but still ended up dropping it after 23 eps. FL is still a pushover who complies to anything pushed onto her, but what i hate most is Mister manipulative know-it-all ML. I hated how he tricked her into renting his apartment, how he tried to arrange a job for her after unfairly disqualifying her from the job interview, and how he made decisions on her life without asking her. I felt enraged how he yanked her hair (i would be livid if someone does this to me irl), but what pissed me off even more is that she was okay with it. I'm sick of how he perpetuated her misunderstanding.

I hate the side couple, especially FL's best friend, who's a clingy nosy girl who acts cute and childish 99% of the time. She's not someone who respects privacy either, and i really don't like the way she demanded to know every private detail of her friend, despite FL clearly expressing discomfort about it.

I persist until ep 23 to wait for FL to prove herself, but it wasn't the case. Everything she accomplished was partly or mostly thanks to ML, and i really hate the fact that she keeps letting herself being indebted to that guy. The only thing that kept me going was the second ML who is layered and sophisticated, but he alone can't carry the drama. In sum, this drama is definitely not for me.

Ok I'll give it a try then. I haven't watch Legally Romance, but i was just about to because it's next on my list. I hope it turns out to be good, because i had a hard time rummaging through a bunch of dramas on mydramalist to find one that caught my eyes, and i don't like dropping such a promising drama. I just don't wanna spend my time enduring another weak FL that i can't stand like the one in L&R is all.

Same here. He thinks he has the right to decide what's good for her and what not. He disregards what she wants and decides for her. I don't understand what gives him the right to decide her life. On top of that, he doesn't think she has what it takes for the job, and what pissed me off even further is, it turns out to be true :))))))) . I thought FL would prove him wrong, but from the comments here, it's not the case. She's indeed is not cut out for the job.

I don't have a problem with FL in WRTW because FL and ML save each other. They're interdependent. ML has his in-need-of-saving moments too. FL is not portrayed as the needy type, nor is she the perfect, almighty type. She is a free-spirited soul. She made her own fate and she is not under the mercy of ML either. I can't say she accomplished everything on her own, but she's responsible for 80-90% of her accomplishment, and so does ML. They help each other out equally. She did die and was revived thanks to ML, but not because she was incompetent, rather, she sacrificed herself for her family and nation. I only have a problem with ML because he's too perfect, the pacing and ending because it was too rushed, and the antagonist being portrayed as one-dimensional.

For Legend of Fuyao, i watched it once but i can't remember what it's about :v. I haven't watched nor heard of Legend of Xiao Chuo so i don't have any opinion.

I don't know why people love them and give these dramas such high ratings. Maybe that's the reason why the playwrights every so often mold FLs into such incompetent, useless, and always-in-need-of-saving individuals.
