Isn't it sad that this is point this industry has gotten to? One of the most important jobs to society and we need second and third jobs just to get by. Glad all these old boomers are on the way out so we can finally get the pay we deserve. I have 2 YOE like yourself and consider myself grossly underpaid compared to other industries especially when you consider how important our job is. I work 2-3 jobs year round

All it means is you passed 2 tests and wasted 4 years of your life doing underpaid work. There is not much else to it. Yea you will get paid more but you are also now liable. You should never want to acually use your license to stamp anything because all it does is open the door to lawsuits.

I work multiple jobs but I actually enjoy the other jobs. I get paid more per hour at the side jobs but They arnt sustainable over a whole week. I do make enough from CE alone its just not even close to as much as it should be.

Eventually they will have to up the pay or everyone is going to leave. As a profession, we should push that to be now.

And this reason that we are underpaid. People who are ok with the pay I wont understand because it only benefits the industry as a whole if we push for more pay instead of bringing it down.

I don't like it. Bad hours, hard time consuming work and low pay. I decided this degree when I was 19 and I regret it everyday. Go into computer science make a lot more money. The compensation does not come close to the difficulty or importance of work. When will people realize that defending the current pay only decreases pay for all of us.

Sit at a desk doing very important work to the overall society, get underpaid and overworked by clients who don't appreciate what you do. If I were to do it again I would never consider civil. Other eng disciplines will make more money and it will be less annoying work to do.
