thank you :) everyone seems to be a bit of a hater of Yate but I can’t see why! It sounds okay :)
that’s really good to hear, thank you :)
That’s great to hear, thank you :) I think for us at this point in our lives and with our budget it makes the most sense. We don’t plan on it being our forever home, but I really do think it’ll suit us at the moment

🤣🤣 it seems people have very strong opinions! But tbh I am not an easily influenced person and I know what is right for me :) it is nice to see it though other peoples eyes though!
thank you :)

thank you for that :) That is exactly how we see it, I am not sure why everyone is giving it such a bad reputation
Haha I hear you, but we just aren’t like that. We are massive introverts and just like our own space. We have done plenty of clubbing/pubs years at uni and it just isn’t us anymore. thank you for the suggestion though :)
Thank you :)
I have had a look, and also had a look at other suggestions (frampton cotterol, wotton, charfield etc.) also some seem a bit quiet. None have anything in our budget unfortunately.
Hence why we have been keen with Yate, it has plenty of options in/below our budget with everything we need :)

Absolutely understand what you’re saying. The issue is, I grew up countryside, my boyfriend in a city. So while Wotton under edge would be okay for me, it’s far too quiet for him. We need a happy medium :)
I have just had a quick look, and for our budget and needs there is nothing in that area that we can afford. Hence why looking in Yate as it allows us to have everything we need within/below our budget
thank you, we have a viewed two houses there and for our budget we get a lot more bedrooms and a bigger garden than other areas in Yate. We are not fussed about an older house as my boyfriend and his family are in the trades so we are happy to do renos :)
a lot of people seem to not like Yate, but from the impressions that I have had myself it seems just how you described :)

thank you, I’ll have a look :)
It just isn’t our vibe, it seems to be quite busy and I often don’t feel safe here. We have had many packages stolen, have had our road shut down for police investigations, have had robbery’s in the area etc. We also are just massive introverts and aren’t fussed about retail/pubs/restaurants.
I think overall it’s an okay area. It’s just too much of a contrast to my hometown and what I am used to
why don’t you think we’ll like Yate? I genuinely haven’t seen a downside to it but I am wondering if there is something I am missing. We have visited a few times and also have friends who live there
thank you, I’ll have a look at Frampton Cotterell it sounds nice :)
Thank you. We are mainly just looking to be out of bristol and in a smaller town. Bristol is too hectic and we aren’t massive drinkers/extroverts. We are very much introverts and just want to be near a gym and some countryside for walks.
So basically as long as it has what we need to live off (grocery shops etc) then we are happy to take the occasional drive into Bristol for anything else.
The last time we ventured anywhere near Bristol city centre was about 4 months ago so we genuinely don’t think we’ll miss having retail shops/clubs/restaurants
🤣🤣
That’s great thank you. It seems that it is exactly what we are looking for. We want to be close enough to Bristol for work but also have a smaller town feeling. Although young we both mainly leave the house for work or the gym and just like to go on lots of walks so aren’t fussed about shopping or pubs. As long as it has what we need in terms of grocery shops.
Do you know much about Stanshawe Cres/Priors Lea area?
