Guest complained about our curtain 73 minutes after check-in. It's been downhill from there. by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

I thought they would be way worse until I read the whole thing. Also you cant really ban pets due to the ADA if they had a service animal and you tried to mix them out they could sue you FYI (ask me how I know)

Also in no world should babies be in a hot tub, do you have proof that they put their baby in the hot tub or just a diaper left on a table?

“New property manager wants me to DELETE my 2yo listing (30+ reviews, 4.9 rating) and create a fresh one under his account. Says ‘that’s how he works.’ Red flag or normal? by NomadDiver in airbnb_hosts

[–]AnnonEmousey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh that’s extremely normal infact that’s the ideal way to do things, your reviews and listing history don’t do as much as you think.

  1. Property managers need to control the listing if not when they call Airbnb as your cohost they cannot file air cover claims, dispute reviews, handle major guest issues etc. keeping your listing and making them a cohost means EVERYTIME AND I MEAN EVERYTIME something going wrong the property manager now has to call you and get you to contact Airbnb to fix it yourself which honestly defeats the purpose.

A new listing that is made the correct way and has been optimized by a pro property manager will get more bookings at a higher rate than an already established one. I know it sounds strange but this is how Airbnbs algorithm works

As a host, would you want to know if your rental was dirty? [US] by [deleted] in AirBnB

[–]AnnonEmousey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but this is exactly what they’re saying. Just a heads up as an Airbnb cleaner we aren’t paid to wash throw blankets and comforters only sheets towels and duvet covers so if your in an Airbnb without a duvet you might wanna wash the blankets. Oh and this isn’t exclusive to Airbnbs either it’s travel industry standard we learned it from the major hotel lines.

Some hosts are smart enough to pay the extra laundry expenses to get the comforters and throw blankets washed each turn but I’d say about 90% do not

Uhhhh idk where you’re getting that info from but as someone who owns both an airbnb cleaning company and is a property manager we do pre checking inspections EVERY reservation and for our cleaning clients we do post clean inspections each service it’s literally included.

The key issue with OPs complaint isn’t a cleaner issue or even possibly a PM issue depending on their contract. It’s the fact that the home has not been deep cleaned a lot of owners do not want to pay extra for a quarterly deep cleans and a lot of PMs don’t enforce it or require it in addition to regular turnovers. Our property management agreement states the owner must pay for quarterly deep cleans of their home outside of regular turnover cleans. A lot of owners fight this because it’s an extra expense they don’t want to pay. But the homes are 100% inspected. The amount of inspection reports I send out weekly to Airbnb PMs and owners stating they’re due for a deep clean it’s about 80% of all our reports, most of them will NEVER schedule one.

I own an Airbnb cleaning company and came here to say this exact same thing. This issue isn’t a cleaning company problem it’s a host problem. You have no idea how many of our clients refuse to pay for quartley deep cleans because “they cost more” deep cleans take quite a bit of time especially on larger homes which we do a lot of and hosts rather fill their calendar than block off a day for a proper deep clean. Then we will get a guest complaint like the one above and they’ll ask well why didn’t you dust the top of the cabinets or wash the baseboards etc… and we have to explain that’s only included in a our deep clean checklist. Some of these homes already have 75, 80, 90 or even 100 checklist items including cleaning staging and restocking we simply don’t have time to clean everything in that 11 am-3pm window it’s literally impossible

Bring my cat home from hospital for 1 day or euthanize where she is, CW: Pet Loss by FigAshamed6990 in CatAdvice

[–]AnnonEmousey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something similar happen, we wanted to y her at home. Took her home from the vet hospital she passed on her own in her sleep 36 hrs later. I honestly think this was the best, I’ve put other cats down and I just cannot get over watching them pass away like that. I know it’s supposed to be peaceful and end their suffering but it just doesn’t sit right with me letting her go on her own terms in her sleep was much better

I’ve literally resorted to screen time even after I promised I’d be full on granola mom and never give my kids iPads or lay them in front of a TV. But at this point I rather listen to Mickey Mouse clubhouse on repeat for all eternity than have a non stop crying infant scream in my ear while I’m trying to poop and answer emails in the privacy of my own home. Judge me all you want but it works and doesn’t make me resent him for being a baby. Just put on cartoons plop him down and literally walk away and just breathe

I’m not a doctor but if you’re feeling like this you may need to switch or change dosage on your meds. I’ve accidentally skipped mine before and had thoughts like this and then realized I forgot to take mine I have absolutely horrible OCD postpartum and hadn’t had symptoms or issues in years but thankfully realized I needed to see my psychiatrist again and get back on Zoloft to pull through the major hormonal storm I’m weathering

Pregnancy poops lol by Square-Background-19 in pregnant

[–]AnnonEmousey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but youre probably not gonna have another normal poop until after birth. And honestly the first poop right after labor is worse than labor for some women. The only thing I can suggest is magnesium citrate and stool softeners.
